It was the second and final international co-production between Hammer Studios of England and Shaw Brothers Studio of Hong Kong. The film was shot entirely on location in Hong Kong and was first released in 1974 in UK.
Synopsis
Monsieur Fracasse (Stuart Whitman), le héros éponyme, un tueur à gages professionnel, est chargé de la neutralisation d'un dirigeant africain. Une fois son contrat rempli et s'étant rendu à Hong Kong pour percevoir ses émoluments, il est à son tour la victime de diverses voies de fait, ses employeurs ayant décidé de le liquider. Il est heureusement pris en charge par deux locaux, un professeur d'arts martiaux (Ti Lung), et une demoiselle travaillant dans le domaine du service à la personne (Lily Li). Ensemble, ils vont affronter leurs adversaires, dont un homme âgé (Peter Cushing).Actors

In late 9th-century imperial China, the Tang dynasty court no longer had effective control of its empire, and the national capital Chang'an was sacked by Huang Chao's anti-government army. Li Keyong, a Shatuo chieftain loyal to the Tang cause, led his troops to suppress the rebellion. His 13 generals—essentially all adopted sons—helped expel Huang from Chang'an, although a rift between some of them became more and more apparent in the process. Following the victory, Li Keyong accepted an invitation for a banquet at military governor Zhu Wen's territory of Bianliang, unaware that it was a trap to assassinate him.

The premise involves two street racers (played by Taylor and Wilson) who live on the road in their highly modified, grey-primered, brutal 1955 Chevrolet 150 two-door sedan drag car and drift from town to town, making their income by challenging local residents to impromptu drag races. The movie follows them driving east on Route 66 from Needles, California. They pick up a female hitchhiker in Flagstaff, Arizona (played by Bird), although it is more accurate to say that she picks them up by simply getting into their car. In New Mexico, they encounter another car driver (played by Oates, driving a 1970 Pontiac GTO). An atmosphere of hostility develops between the two parties. Although Oates is not an overt street racer, and, in fact, seems to know little about cars, a cross-country race to Washington, D.C. is suggested. Taylor proposes that the prize should be "for pinks," or legal ownership of the loser's car. Characters are never identified by name in the movie; instead they are named "The Driver," "The Mechanic," "GTO," and "The Girl". The movie follows the group east through small towns in California, Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Tennessee, but no character makes it to Washington, D.C. during the film.

During the early 1970s, the ICAC has not been established in Hong Kong yet and the city was swamped with corruption and widespread poverty. Police sergeant Wong Yat-chung (Ti Lung) is very upright and justice and refuses to partake with his corrupt colleagues and thus, he is marginalized from everyone else at the police station. During an operation, Wong's subordinate Sam Mok (Simon Yam) shoots Wong in the back heavily injuring him. Meanwhile, Governor Murray MacLehose delegates Sir Barry Drainage to investigate the corruption happening in Hong Kong. Drainage's assistant Annie Ma (Maggie Cheung) also enlists Wong for help. After investigating, Wong discovers that Mok was forced to shoot him earlier. Wong then recruits Mok alongside two elite cadets from the police academy to assist him in gathering evidence of corruption groups and begins Hong Kong's first strike against corruption.

A group of bandits flees with a stolen safe to a small town where they oppress the villagers and forces the town's blacksmith Wei Min-hui (Danny Lee) to unlock the safe. Wei refuses to help the bandits and after he informed the mayor about this, he reports to the officials in a nearby village. The bandits were furious that Wei has fled away and starts killing the villagers, threatening them they will kill a villager every hour if they do not find Wei. Finally, the heroes of the town come forward to wipe out the bandits. At this time, Wei also brings a government official to town, who unexpectedly turns out to be an accomplice of the bandits.
