The plot follows a woman who once released from a mental hospital, tries in vain to fit into society. Made with a very low budget, it was shown out of competition at the Venice Film Festival.
Synopsis
A writer, obtains permission to visit a psychiatric hospital in order to prepare for his next novel. He finds several deficiencies in both the medical and social treatment of the patients. His criticisms are not well received by the doctors. the writer meets Anna, a woman who healed from her mental issues,has been entrusted to the care of her brother. Anna's reintegration into her family and society have proved difficult.Actors

The opening has the dashing Earl of Huntingdon besting his bitter enemy, Sir Guy of Gisbourne, in a joust. Huntingdon then joins King Richard the Lion-Hearted, who is going off to fight in the Crusades and has left his brother, Prince John, as regent. The prince soon emerges as a cruel, treacherous tyrant. Goaded on by Sir Guy, he usurps Richard's throne. When Huntingdon receives a message from his paramour, Lady Marian Fitzwalter, telling him of all that has transpired, he requests permission to return to England. King Richard assumes that the Earl has turned coward and denies him permission. The Earl seeks to leave in spite of this, but is ambushed by Sir Guy and imprisoned as a deserter. Upon escaping from his confines, he returns to England, endangering his life and honor, to oppose Prince John and restore King Richard's throne. He finds himself and his friends outlawed and Marian apparently dead.

Quand le Colonel Raleigh, un aristocrate du Sud, refuse que sa fille Dorothy se marie avec Forbes Stewart, un joueur nordiste, le couple s'enfuit. En Californie, à l'époque de la Ruée vers l'or : Cowpoke, un cow-boy de passage en ville, sauve la vie de Tennessee, un joueur professionnel, en abattant un tueur à la solde d'un de ses rivaux. Les deux hommes, très dissemblables, nouent cependant une amitié réciproque. Tennessee fréquente le saloon d'une belle femme qu'on nomme "la Duchesse" et qui est aussi son amante. Là, une aventurière cupide, autrefois liée à Tennessee, entreprend de séduire Cowpoke. Ce dernier lui promet bientôt un mariage. Mais, les choses s'enveniment... car, Tennessee, afin de préserver son ami, éloigne la jeune femme. Cowpoke se fâche, mais finit par en comprendre les raisons. Les deux hommes se réconcilient. Plus tard, Cowpoke sacrifie sa propre vie pour sauver Tennessee, à nouveau menacé.
