Synopsis
Dans une maison petite-bourgeoise, le coiffeur Golikov et son épouse engagent une femme de ménage d'origine paysanne, Paracha Pitounova. Ils l'exploitent sans retenue, profitant de sa timidité et de son inexpérience. Les rapports entre Paracha et le couple Golikov se modifient lorsque ceux-ci et les autres locataires la croient élue au Conseil de la ville de Moscou. En réalité, ce n'est pas d'elle qu'il s'agit, mais d'une autre personne au patronyme et au prénom identiques. La jeune fille est alors chassée mais le syndicat prend sa défense. Ses employeurs seront sévèrement jugés.Actors

Stranded by a storm in the Caspian Sea, sailor Yussuf and mechanic Alyosha cling to the remains of their ship for survival. On their third day adrift, the castaways are rescued by fishermen. Taken to a nearby island off the coast of Soviet Azerbaijan, Yussuf and Alyosha are welcomed into the local Lights of Communism collective farm. The two men are quickly smitten by a local woman named Mariya. As Alyosha explores the island, he separates from his friend, and happens across Mariya alone. Introducing themselves, each is in for a surprise. Mariya is, in fact, a leader of the collective. She is delighted to learn of Alyosha's profession, as all of the island's mechanics have left in service to the Pacific Fleet. In their absence, Mariya had feared that the collective's fishing operations would have been impeded. Alyosha promises to stay for the entire season, and going off to inspect a motor boat together, the two engage in flirtatious behavior. However, Yussuf soon joins up with the pair and grows jealous.

Natasha and her grandfather live in a cottage near Moscow, making hats for Madame Irène. Madame and her husband have told the housing committee that Natasha rents a room from them; this fiddle gives Madame's lazy husband a room for lounging. Ivan Poddoubny débarque de Théodosie à Odessa où il rencontre son ami Nikita, un docker (un va-nu-pieds), à qui il confie qu'il n'est pas venu pour travailler dans leur artel mais tenter sa chance en tant que lutteur. Ivan n'a pas de problème pour être engagé, car son gabarit et sa renommée plaident en sa faveur, mais Dourov n'est accepté que grâce au soutien du lutteur qui promet de travailler à l'œil pendant une semaine si pendant cette période le clown n'a pas de succès.

Soviet intelligence officer Aleksey Fedotov by the name of Heinrich Eckert departs for German occupied Vinnytsia. His purpose is to obtain the secret correspondence of General Kuhn with the Hitler's headquarters. The film is a broad satire of American ignorance of the Soviet Union. The naive American, Mr. West, played by Porfori Podobed as a Harold Lloyd type (complete with enormous round glasses), is a YMCA president who is planning a trip to the newly founded Soviet Union to spread the idea of the YMCA. His wife, Madge, is worried that Russia is full of savage Bolsheviks who wear primitive rags and fur for clothing, as depicted in American magazines. He takes along his cowboy friend Jeddie played by Boris Barnet for protection and as a companion.

Dans un pays étranger capitaliste, les ouvriers d’une usine mènent une révolte qui est réprimée par le patronat, assisté d'une organisation fasciste. Après plusieurs poursuites, bagarres et luttes, Tomas Lann réussi à reprendre l’appareil et à le transporter dans son pays. Là, les ouvriers révoltés, armés maintenant du rayon de la mort, peuvent gagner leur lutte contre les capitalistes.
