Le film relate de façon romancée l'histoire du célèbre lutteur Ivan Poddoubny et de clown Anatoli Dourov, le premier de l'illustre famille du cirque russe.
Synopsis
Ivan Poddoubny débarque de Théodosie à Odessa où il rencontre son ami Nikita, un docker (un va-nu-pieds), à qui il confie qu'il n'est pas venu pour travailler dans leur artel mais tenter sa chance en tant que lutteur. En chemin, il rencontre Anatoli Leonidovitch Dourov dont le cirque a brûlé et qui cherche à être embauché comme pitre. Ensemble, ils arrivent au cirque du tonitruant seigneur Giuseppe Truzzi qui a beaucoup de problèmes avec sa fille Estérina qui file le parfait amour avec Orlando considéré par le directeur du cirque comme un vaurien. Ivan n'a pas de problème pour être engagé, car son gabarit et sa renommée plaident en sa faveur, mais Dourov n'est accepté que grâce au soutien du lutteur qui promet de travailler à l'œil pendant une semaine si pendant cette période le clown n'a pas de succès.Actors

Soviet intelligence officer Aleksey Fedotov by the name of Heinrich Eckert departs for German occupied Vinnytsia. His purpose is to obtain the secret correspondence of General Kuhn with the Hitler's headquarters. Stranded by a storm in the Caspian Sea, sailor Yussuf and mechanic Alyosha cling to the remains of their ship for survival. On their third day adrift, the castaways are rescued by fishermen. Taken to a nearby island off the coast of Soviet Azerbaijan, Yussuf and Alyosha are welcomed into the local Lights of Communism collective farm. The two men are quickly smitten by a local woman named Mariya. As Alyosha explores the island, he separates from his friend, and happens across Mariya alone. Introducing themselves, each is in for a surprise. Mariya is, in fact, a leader of the collective. She is delighted to learn of Alyosha's profession, as all of the island's mechanics have left in service to the Pacific Fleet. In their absence, Mariya had feared that the collective's fishing operations would have been impeded. Alyosha promises to stay for the entire season, and going off to inspect a motor boat together, the two engage in flirtatious behavior. However, Yussuf soon joins up with the pair and grows jealous.

Natasha and her grandfather live in a cottage near Moscow, making hats for Madame Irène. Jamal Jeffries (Miguel A. Núñez, Jr.) is a UBA (fictional version of the NBA) basketball star whose undisciplined on-and-off-court antics have earned him a bad reputation in the basketball community. Jamal is dropped from his team, the Charlotte Beat and suspended indefinitely after he strips naked in protest of being taken out of a game. His agent, Lorne Daniels (Kevin Pollak), is unsuccessful at finding him a new team, and cuts Jamal as a client. As a result, Jamal's life goes downhill: his endorsements drop him, he ends up bankrupt due to lavish spending, his belongings are repossessed, his mansion is foreclosed on, and his girlfriend Tina (Lil' Kim), who only put up with his antics for his money and fame, walks out on him.
