Synopsis
Stressed by marital and alcohol problems Dr. Ben Cahill freezes up under pressure in the emergency room. He decides to unwind a few months in the house he and his ex bought on Orr island, a fishing community off the coast of Maine. Here he starts examining, at the request of sheriff Hobbs, some animal and human corpses with strange internal as well as external injuries. The doc observes one of the red cockroaches which recently infest the island has pincers, most unusual, reads up and contacts the university entomology department, where this African species isn't too well-known either. He discovers that these cockroach-like insects that burrow into people and nest inside them.Actors

In the quiet mining town of Prosperity, Arizona, an accident involving a rabbit causes a barrel of toxic waste to land in a reservoir. An exotic spider farmer named Joshua (Tom Noonan) has been making regular visits to the site, where he collects crickets for his spiders. Although the spiders have ingested the toxins, he is oblivious since the arachnids seem unaffected. Joshua shows Mike (Scott Terra), a local boy, his collection, which include Jumping spiders, Tarantulas, Trapdoor spiders, and orb-weavers spiders, including a female orb-weaver named Consuela. After Mike leaves, Joshua is bitten by an escaped tarantula and accidentally knocks down the spider cages, causing him to be killed by the spiders. After devouring him, the spiders grow to even bigger proportions.

Dan "Dash" Dashiell (Patrick Muldoon) is a retired Olympic skier who works at a ski resort in the mountains of Utah. On a restricted side of the mountain, Dr. April Sommers (Vanessa A. Williams) is working on creating a new breed of spider with several others. When a group of teen skiers arrives at the mountain, Chad (Noah Bastian) challenges Dash to a race. The two show some impressive moves as the others look on. When Dash reaches a large rocky slope, he turns back and goes down another way rather than risk a leg injury like the one that ruined his career. As Dash makes it to the bottom, he meets Dr. Sommers. While they talk for a while, Frank (Stephen J. Cannell) takes the teens inside the resort. After a brief discussion, Dr. Sommers returns to the lab, where she finds dead scientists everywhere. She finds the sole survivor cocooned in a spider web. He warns Dr. Sommers about the spiders escaping and then slowly dies. When she turns to leave, the last spider remaining at the lab, a mutated Black Widow, attacks her and forces her into a locked office. She finds an alarm and engages it, which alerts Professor Marks (David Millbern) and Army Captain Baker (Thomas Calabro), who are elsewhere on the mountain, to her location.

At the Yucca Mountain nuclear waste repository, repair crews are puzzled to find power cables ripped out from the ceiling. Meanwhile, a young hacker boy named Jesse is caught trying to steal dynamite. His uncle bails him out, and a workman teaches him how to operate a forklift, which contains a remote control to open the door to a deep elevator shaft. That night, an animal appears at the repository's mess hall and kills everyone but Jesse.

Several months after the events of The Fly, Veronica Quaife is about to deliver the child she had conceived with scientist Seth Brundle. Anton Bartok, owner of Bartok Industries (the company which financed Brundle's teleportation experiments), oversees the labor. Veronica dies from shock after giving birth to a squirming larval sac, which splits open to reveal a seemingly normal baby boy. The orphaned child, named Martin Brundle, is taken into Bartok's care. Bartok is fully aware of the teleportation accident which genetically merged Seth Brundle with a housefly (a condition that Martin has inherited), and he secretly plans to exploit Martin's unique condition.

The film opens a year after the previous film with Charles Garrison (Peter Coyote) arriving at a mortuary with one of the canisters of Trioxin that he salvaged from the previous movie. He is greeted by a team of Russian government officials whose goal is to destroy the last of the canisters to avoid another incident like that of what happened in Necropolis. Nevertheless, one of them sprays three corpses with the gas, and revives three corpses. Charles, is killed during the incident along with the mortuary owner and one of the government officials.

After three men are discovered hideously mutilated (their faces have been removed) and strung up among New York City's high-tension wires, Detective Klaski (Bruno Campos) stumbles upon a link: Each of the men knew entomologist Remy (Alix Koromzay), a teacher at an inner-city high school. In Manhattan, cockroaches are spreading the deadly "Strickler's disease" that is claiming hundreds of the city's children. Entomologist Susan Tyler (Mira Sorvino) uses genetic engineering to create what her colleague (and husband) Peter Mann (Jeremy Northam) and she call the Judas breed, a large insect (looking like a cross between a termite and a praying mantis) that releases an enzyme that kills off the disease-carrying roaches by speeding up their metabolism. The Judas breed works spectacularly and the crisis is abated. The released population was all-female and designed with a lifespan of only a few months, so that it would only last one generation.

A group of soldiers led by Maj. Baker (Bradford Dillman) is ordered to investigate a basement level station which they believed was attacked. After Baker contacts his commander, Gen. Slater (Richard Widmark), they begin to investigate who drove a civilian van into the base. It is revealed to be owned by a scientist named Dr. Bradford Crane (Michael Caine), the only survivor of the attack. Slater orders two helicopters to check for a black mass (revealed to be bees), but the two helicopters are swarmed by the bees and crash, killing the pilots inside. Crane insists to Slater that the base was attacked by the same African killer bees that destroyed the helicopters. Helena Anderson (Katharine Ross), one of the base's doctors, supports Crane's story.

The film opens with an alien ship that crashes into a U.S national park. The alien's dead arm comes out of the craft and a small mosquito starts feeding off the blood. While driving, two lovers Megan and Ray (Rachelle Loiselle and Tim Lovelace) accidentally hit the mutated giant mosquito. They get out of the vehicle to analyses it, unsure of its nature. They then go to a summer camp and rent a Bungalow. Meanwhile Hendricks (Ron Asheton) is sent off to spread mosquito killing gas everywhere and even on the campers. Three bank robbers, Earl, Junior and Rex are stopped in the forest and this is when Rex first meets his encounter with the giant mosquitoes. He runs for his life but is accidentally shot down by Junior. Megan, Ray, Earl, Junior, Hendricks and Parks a searcher for a radioactive meteorite are brought back together in a RV. They fight against the insects until the vehicle tips over and crashes. Everyone manages to get out, except for Junior who is attacked and brutally killed by the mosquitoes. The rest of the group are trapped inside a sewer and fight off the mosquitoes with fire. The morning comes and the group comes out exhausted and wounded. They walk through the forest, find and hide in an abandoned farm house. But the mosquitoes quickly find the crew and try to get them. Meanwhile, searching around the house, Parks and Hendricks find a room filled with mosquito larva. So they plan to blow up the house to kill all the mosquitoes. They install a bomb, while still fighting against the mutants. Hendricks tries to escape the house by an elevator but the contraption breaks and Hendricks falls to his death. Earl is also later killed, one second before the house explodes and only Parks, Ray and Megan manages to survive.
