Thulasi is a 1987 Tamil romantic drama film directed by Ameerjan. The film features Murali and Seetha in lead roles. The film, produced by P. S. V. Hariharan, had musical score by Sampath Selvam and was released on 27 November 1987.
Synopsis
Thirunavukarasu (Major Sundarrajan) is like the God in his village. While, his son Sammadham (Chandrasekhar) is an atheist and he doesn't believe in his father's power. Sammadham and Ponni (Thara), a low caste girl, fall in love with each other. Sammadham's best friend Siva (Murali), a low caste boy, passes the M.A degree successfully. Thulasi (Seetha), Thirunavukarasu's daughter, develops a soft corner for Siva.Actors

After saving Manoranjitham (Vinodhini) from committing suicide in the forest, the kindhearted Siva (Prashanth) brings her home to live in his house, much to the despair of his neighbor Shenbagam (Mounika), who secretly loves him. Things become even more complicated when Siva falls in love with his houseguest and arranges for them to be married, but on the day of the wedding, she mysteriously disappears. Siva comes to know that Manoranjitham is going to die because for her serious health conditions. He finally finds her at her death bed in hospital where she dies.

Dhanasekhar (Rajkiran) returns to his ancestral village after twelve years only to find his house in a dilapidated state. While living in a neighbor's house, he approaches an engineer to rebuild his house. Thamizharasan (Arun Vijay), son of an architect Vijayakumar is an architect himself who specializes in traditional building techniques. He agrees to rebuild their house to their liking. As the construction work progresses, Thamizharasan gets closer to Dhanasekhar and his family members. He befriends Jeeva (Shamitha), Dhanasekhar's niece and eventually falls in love with her. When Dhanasekhar comes to know of this, he reveals the tragic past of his family which forced them out of their own village years ago.
