Vaah! Life Ho Toh Aisi! (English: Wow! That's what life should be like!) is a 2005 Bollywood film written and directed by Mahesh Manjrekar and produced by Sangeetha Ahir, starring Shahid Kapoor and Amrita Rao in the lead roles. It was released on 23 December 2005. It is the first Indian film to be shot in high definition (HD). The film is adapted from Hollywood films such as; Ghost and Bruce Almighty. It was a critical and commercial failure.

Synopsis

Aditya Verma, fondly called Adi Chachu or Adi Uncle (Shahid Kapoor) by the children of his brother, lives in a large mansion in Mumbai with his brother (Mohnish Behl) who has a drinking problem, sister-in-law, sister and grandmother. He is the only one working in the family. He falls in love with a tuition teacher, Priya (Amrita Rao). They confess their feelings to each other and plan to get married. However, while going to work to attend an important meeting, Adi is run over by a truck to save Parth (Parth Dave) and dies.

The movie begins with Amar (John Abraham) narrating the story of his family and himself. Amar is the son of Vidyadhar (Amitabh Bachchan) and Sumitra Patwardhan (Sharmila Tagore), a middle class couple in India. Amar lives and works in London and he sends some of his salary to them. One day Amar returns home with Jenny Mayer (Anusha Dandekar), his girlfriend, and announces his intention to get married to her. Initially reluctant, his parents are pleased and happy for the two. Hathyar is a narrative which probes into the household of Raghunath (Sanjay Dutt), a dreaded gangster. His bereaved son Rohit (Sanjay Dutt) has to face a lot of flak from the outside world, repeatedly reminding him of the stigma attached to his family because of his father's past. Just like his father, circumstances force Rohit to become a gangster and he gets the name Boxer Bhai. Ganga agrees to everything his new-found family wants him to do. Then visitors from the past visit Ganga and place him in a dilemma that will change his way of thinking forever.
