Synopsis
Jeanne aime Jean mais celui-ci ne pense qu'à partir. Un jour, il s'enfuit sur les routes puis meurt. Jeanne ne le saura jamais. Dans l'absence de cet homme aimé, elle se souvient de lui et se confie à son ami Pierre, lui racontant leur séjour en Provence. Les derniers mots de Jeanne sont : « Jean, tout est fragile. Peut-on vivre d'un souvenir ? ».Actors

The story begins on 5 July 1939. The film opens with a narration by Julien, who states that he is going on 15, and that he is in love with his cousin Julia, and also that Julia's younger sister, Poune, is in love with him. His self-obsessed sister Claire is about to marry for money. François 22 ans, travaille dans une banque au milieu d’une agitation permanente qui lui paraît stérile. Il est très mélancolique et semble ne plus avoir le goût à la vie, il passe le plus clair de son temps à se droguer et à s'isoler dans sa chambre, ne s'alimentant presque plus, causant le désespoir de ses parents chez qui François vit et aussi celui de sa copine Sophie, une danseuse à l'Opéra. Quand il ne se drogue pas, François voit ses amis, Guy qu'il connait de longue date et Pierrot, un garçon un peu plus jeune. Multipliant les absences à son travail, François finit par en être renvoyé. La tristesse et la déception de la vie de François s'intensifient peu à peu. Il finit notamment par se séparer de Sophie. Alors qu'il décide de quitter Paris, il meurt d'une overdose. Sa mère, ne supportant pas sa mort se suicide quelques jours plus tard. Sur leur tombe commune, se recueille Guy qui dit une phrase qu'avait l'habitude d'écrire son ami : "Je croyais que la vie était un poème".

In a brief autumnal cold opening scene, Lady Constance Chatterley (Marina Hands) farewells a burly visitor of professional appearance who drives himself away from the manor house in a 1932 Peugeot. We then see the conclusion of a formal Christmas dinner, ironically accompanied by the ghostly music of the Danse macabre. The host, baronet Sir Clifford Chatterley, relates how he was wounded in World War I and returned paralyzed from the waist down. Though he is both sexually impotent and emotionally distant, Lady Constance tries to be a good wife to him, though their marriage is dreary and unhappy. One day Constance is tasked with going to the gamekeeper, Parkin, to request a brace of pheasants for the kitchen. She is aroused by the sight of Parkin bathing himself. Afterwards Constance falls into a depression where she can barely move or leave the house. One day, while walking in the grounds of her home and picking daffodils, Constance goes to Parkin's work cabin and rests there awhile. She asks Parkin for a key and though he initially appears reluctant to give her one, he eventually does. Constance begins going there every day to work side by side with Parkin.

Rémi (Patrick Dewaere) is a struggling pianist with a wife named Martine (Nicole Garcia), a model who is getting too old to find desirable work, and a 14-year-old stepdaughter Marion (Ariel Besse).
