Its original title is Latin for "We have a pope", the phrase used upon the announcement of a new pope. The story revolves around a cardinal who, against his wishes, is elected pope. A psychoanalyst is called in to help the pope overcome his panic. The film premiered in Italy in April 2011 and played in competition at the 64th Cannes Film Festival.
Synopsis
On the death of the pope, the conclave meets in Rome. Early ballots end with black smoke, since none of the main candidates reaches the quorum. After several rounds of voting, Cardinal Melville is elected, though he had not previously been considered a frontrunner.Actors

The young priest Father Giulio returns to Rome, his hometown, after a long pilgrimage. The film tells a very raw and realistic story of the death of a teenager in a middle-class Italian family. Giovanni has a troubled relationship with his seventeen-year-old son Andrea and would like to make up with him by jogging. Andrea, annoyed by the presence of his father, accepts the invitation, but on the very first day of jogging, Giovanni has a firm commitment. The second day Giovanni has to cancel the jogging with Andrea due to an urgent call from one of his patients. Andrea goes with friends to go scuba diving instead. Unable to make it back to the surface in time after following a fish into a cave, Andrea dies, without being able to be reconciled with his father. Giovanni, with his wife Paola, is no longer able to console himself for the loss of his very young son and he can only give him a final farewell in the funeral home along with all the other young friends of Andrea.

Moretti is a director in crisis and would like to make a musical film that speaks to the history of a pastry in the Cold War. However, each time he starts to develop the project, Moretti leaves the Institute to devote himself to meditation. In fact there is something in the Italy of his day that afflicts him: the demonic presence in Italy of Silvio Berlusconi and his corrupt colleagues (including Emilio Fede in the TV news) in the government.
