Anu Aggarwal (born 11 January 1969) is a former Indian model and Indian film actress. She is best known for her works Aashiqui, The Cloud Door and Thiruda Thiruda.

Biography

Aggarwal was born on 11 January 1969 in New Delhi, and was raised in Chennai. She was a gold medalist in sociology at Delhi University. After a brief stint in modelling, and VJing, she made her Bollywood debut with the musical blockbuster Aashiqui, following which she was much in demand.

In 1999, she had a near fatal accident in Mumbai and was treated at Breach Candy Hospital, to recuperate after a 29-day coma. She lives in Bihar and is single. She practices yoga at the Bihar school of yoga in Munger, Bihar. She is also an amateur power-lifter and after her accident has competed in many power-lifting competitions. She quoted in one of her interviews "To feel strong, to walk amongst humans with a tremendous feeling of confidence and superiority is not at all wrong. The sense of superiority in bodily strength is borne out by the long history of mankind paying homage in folklore, song and poetry to strong women".


In 2015, Aggarwal wrote an auto-biography titled "Anusual- Memoir of a Girl who Came Back from the Dead" recounting her times in Bollywood and the accident that changed her life.

The British Government agree to loan the priceless Kohinoor diamond for an exhibition to multi-billionaire Vinay Kumar, on posting the security of Vinay’s jewel collection worth Rs.500 billion. Despite top security the Kohinoor diamond gets stolen. The prime suspects are Vinay himself, as simultaneously his jewel collection posted as security goes missing; Police Commissioner Surya Dev Singh, the very last person to have supposedly handled the diamond as also being the son of Prince Arjun, the jewel thief from the original film; Con-man Johnny, who has acquired a reputation of being a jewel thief; Jukaso, a gangster of international repute; and Chief Minister Neelkanth who had, in the presence of Surya Dev Singh, kept the Kohinoor in his safe. With the Chief Minister and the Police Commissioner themselves suspects, no one really knows who the real criminal is.

Printed Indian currency, from the Reserve Bank of India security press at Nasik with an estimated value of ₹ 10 billion is stolen by underworld Gangster Vikram (Salim Ghouse) living in London. The container is snipped off from a goods carrier en route to New Delhi, through Vikram's henchman. The access card of the container is in the possession of pop star Chandralekha (Anu Agarwal). The CBI chief Laxminarayana (S. P. Balasubramaniam) is assigned to track down the stolen currency, which had already been attested by the governor of the Reserve Bank of India. On her way to Vikram chandralekha comes across two burglar's Kadhir (Anand) and Azhagu (Prashanth) who are on the run from the police—having in tow country-girl Rasathi (Heera Rajagopal) whom they kept from committing suicide and who then ran away from her ruthless uncle. Laxminarayan's assignment will lead him to Ashok Tejani, and then the two burglars, who are on the run from the Police along with the suicidal village belle. His efforts will be frustrated even more after Ashok is killed and his girlfriend Chandralekha, is absconding; and the entry of the international drug dealer himself, simply known as Vikram, who will stop at nothing to get his hands on the loot. After some attempts of cheating each other Chandralekha is making friends with the thieves. When she discovers that Vikram is stopping at nothing—especially not at dead bodies—on his hunt after the loot, she informs the three others about the real value of the code card. In the following pursuit between Vikram, the four heroes and a special police brigade, which has to get back the money before a state crisis comes about, there is not only fierce action, but also love comes to its own.

Rahul is angry with his dad for marrying a second time, while his first wife is still alive; Anu ran away from an oppressive girls' hostel run by Arnie Campbell (Tom Alter). They meet and fall in love. Rahul helps Anu in becoming independent and seeking a job. Anu is approached by a talent agent to be a model, an offer which she accepts. Rahul wants to marry Anu but he first must establish himself as a singer-which he does, however; being under the impression that Anu helped him with his career, his ego is hurt. This causes him to harbour a growing resentment toward her. Anu then decides to further her career when Director Padam Singh persuades her to accompany him to Paris. When Rahul comes to stop her from boarding the flight, Anu decides to stay behind to renew their relationship.
