Albert Eugen Rollomann (25 October 1909 – 5 August 1982), better known as Dieter Borsche, was a German actor. He appeared in over 90 films between 1935 and 1981. He was born in Hanover, Germany and died in Nuremberg, Germany.
Borsche became a film star after the Second World War following his performance in Keepers of the Night (1949).

The ruins of Fossoway Abbey are supposed to conceal the legendary treasure of the Chelford family, sought by Harry Chelford, last of his line, with fanatical zeal. Due to a hereditary disease, he is liable to fall victim to insanity at any time. His fiancee, Leslie Gine, is more attracted to Dick Alford, Harry's cousin and steward at Chelford Manor. Meanwhile, her brother Arthur, a London lawyer is being blackmailed by his chief clerk Gilder, who wants Leslie for himself. Gilder has purchased some bills of exchange on which Arthur forged the signature of Lord Chelford to pay for his own gambling debts. There is also the 'Black Abbot', a mysterious figure who is seen moving about in the old ruin and supposedly guards the treasure. Inspector Puddler of Scotland Yard and his assistant Horatio are called in when a man is found stabbed to death and they try to solve the mystery. Among the suspects is the butler Fortuna who Puddler recognizes as a former inmate of Dartmoor prison. Mary Wenner, who used to be secretary of Lord Chelford (and an aspirant to become his wife), joins forces with Gilder to find the treasure. They manage to discover some scroll cases containing maps of the abbey but are driven off by the Black Abbot. They later return to find the maps gone. Wenner is shot and killed by Arthur Gine, who himself is later killed in a confrontation with Gilder. Leslie Gine calls off the wedding with Lord Chelford. Lord Chelford, plagued by his deteriorating sanity completely loses his grip on reality when he encounters his mother (whom he believes to be dead) in the grounds of the manor. Lord Chelford shoots his mother and the Black Abbot, takes Leslie as a hostage and hides with her in the tunnels beneath the abbey after also killing Gilder. It turns out there have been two Black Abbots: one was the butler working as an agent for Gilder, the other was Alford, working with the family doctor Loxon to care for the insane Lady Chelford whom they had kept hidden from her son. There is a shoot-out with the police and Lord Chelford is killed by a cave-in. Among the stones falling on the last Lord Chelford are some chests that contain the treasure.

Le surnommé "Bourreau de Londres" tient la ville de Londres en haleine. Avec sa bande, cet homme mystérieux s'en est pris à trois grands criminels qu'il a condamnés à mort et fait pendre. L'inspecteur John Hillier et son ami, le médecin légiste Dr. Philip Trooper, retrouvent à leurs pieds un "dossier de preuves" et une vieille corde qui a été volée au musée de la criminalité de Scotland Yard. L'inspecteur en chef Morel Smith est consterné par l'état des enquêtes. Hillier organise la surveillance du musée jour et nuit. Il rencontre Cabby Pennypacker, un étrange journaliste qui voudrait apporter son aide à l'enquête. Dans la soirée, John Hillier montre le dossier de preuves du Bourreau à l'ancien juge Sir Francis Barry, le père de son amie Ann. Le vieil homme ne cache pas être un partisan de la peine de mort et approuve les meurtres. Il évoque un assassin non identifié qui a décapité plusieurs femmes dont la sœur de Hillier. Un colis piégé est livré à la ville de Sir Francis, Cabby Pennypacker parvient à éloigner la bombe qui explose. Le journaliste affirme que l'auteur est Messerjoe, un escroc qui vient de sortir de prison. Sir Francis l'avait condamné.

Depuis le retour chez lui de Viktor Lorenz, chef d'orchestre de la Seconde Guerre mondiale et prisonnier de guerre, il n'a plus aucun lien avec le secteur de la musique. Les années d'inaction l'ont rendu triste et maussade. Sa fille Sabine, qui travaille assidûment pour le garagiste Freitag et doit principalement servir les clients des stations-service, ne veut plus regarder le découragement de son père et décide ensuite d'agir de manière dynamique. Elle souhaite désespérément que Papa Viktor se produise à nouveau en tant que violon soliste, car elle sait que c'est toute sa vie. Avec une endurance infatigable, l'adolescente, soutenue par Wölfchen Freitag, presque du même âge, le fils du patron, et fait appel à d'autres violonistes, pianistes et flûtistes, souvent au chômage ou jouant pour des fêtes de famille, parfois très âgés, jusqu'à obtenir un orchestre symphonique complet de 99 hommes. L'un d'entre eux, Martin Mansfeld, était présent lorsque Viktor Lorenz, qui n'a pas le droit de tout savoir sur les efforts de Sabine, a donné son premier concert.
