Harald G. Petersson (16 October 1904 – 8 July 1977) was a German screenwriter. He wrote for 36 films between 1934 and 1967.
He was born in Weimar, Germany and died in Berlin, Germany.
Il épouse en secondes noces l'actrice Sybille Schmitz dont il se sépare en 1945. Mais il continue néanmoins à la rejoindre parfois pour tenter de la sauver de son alcoolisme qui finira par causer sa mort par suicide en 1955. Petersson retrouve le succès à partir de 1958 en travaillant avec Horst Wendlandt qui produit des films inspirés des œuvres d'Edgar Wallace et de Karl May, avec le fameux Winnetou.

Biography
Petersson est le fils d'un Suédois installé en Allemagne et d'une Allemande. Il commence sa carrière comme écrivain, puis comme chef de presse de la firme de production cinématographique Tobis. Il devient scénariste, après que son roman Herz ist Trumpf sort en version filmée en décembre 1934 grâce à une production de Carl Boese. Il se spécialise notamment dans des histoires dramatiques d'espionnage ou de faits militaires.Il épouse en secondes noces l'actrice Sybille Schmitz dont il se sépare en 1945. Mais il continue néanmoins à la rejoindre parfois pour tenter de la sauver de son alcoolisme qui finira par causer sa mort par suicide en 1955. Petersson retrouve le succès à partir de 1958 en travaillant avec Horst Wendlandt qui produit des films inspirés des œuvres d'Edgar Wallace et de Karl May, avec le fameux Winnetou.

Siegfried von Xanten defeats the dragon Fafnir, and becomes invulnerable by bathing in the beast's blood. He then wins a net of invisibility (Tarnkappe) and the legendary Treasure of the Nibelungs (Nibelungenschatz) from the dwarf Alberich. Siegfried falls in love with Kriemhild, sister of King Gunther of Burgund. However, Gunther will not allow Siegfried to marry her until he has helped Gunther to win a wife himself. They travel to Iceland where Siegfried helps Gunther to defeat and win Queen Brunhild. They return to the Burgundian court at Worms and both weddings take place. However, jealousy and envy cause frictions at the court. Intrigues eventually result in Hagen of Tronje killing Siegfried during a hunt. In part 2, Kriemhild marries Etzel, king of the huns, in order to gain revenge for the murder of her husband. The Burgundians, led by Gunther and Hagen, follow an invitation after Kriemhild gives birth to Ortileb, and travel to Etzel's hall, where they are attacked by the huns. Hagen kills Ortileb in the fight. There is a great slaughter and Gunther is killed. Finally Kriemhild kills Hagen and is then killed herself.

After the Civil War, desperadoes led by a renegade named Rollins, following the settlers moving westward, try to drive a wedge in the friendship between the whites and the Indians. Apache chief Winnetou and his frontier friend, Old Shatterhand, do what they can to keep the peace. Rollins' henchmen try to keep Winnetou away from the warring Jicarillos' chief, White Buffalo, but he fights his way through, only to be confronted by Rollins carrying the chief's son, stabbed in the chest with Winnetou's knife. Winnetou is accused of the killing. It is up to Old Shatterhand to save his friend.

After the rich Lord Lebanon has been strangled, a group of different characters assembles at Mark's Priory, his lonely manor in the north of Scotland, to attend the reading of his will. However, as lawyer Frank Tanner explains—in reading a "second-to-last-will"—to the potential heirs, they will first have to stay together at the manor for six days and six nights. Thinking that Lebanon has died of heart failure they all agree. It turns out to be a dangerous requirement as the manor is cut off from the outside world by a storm and one by one the visitors are murdered—strangled with an Indian scarf. In the end, of all the guests, family and staff only Tanner, Isla Harris and Bonwit the butler survive. The last will is read and it is revealed that Lord Lebanon has in fact left all his money to the man he considered to be the greatest of the century: Edgar Wallace.

Both Scotland Yard and the criminal community of London are trying to discover the identity of "the Squealer". This mysterious fence forces criminals to sell him their wares for a pittance. When some object, he "squeals" to the police. Those who oppose him are ruthlessly killed, preferably by means of the poison of the Black Mamba. Inspector Elford of Scotland Yard investigates and he has plenty of suspects. The trail leads to the strange Mr. Sutton, owner of a zoological store that also carries predators and poisonous snakes. During his investigation, Elford meets Mrs. Mulford, an older lady who tries to help ex-convicts, and Beryl, her niece, who writes crime stories and works as a court reporter. Inspector Elford discovers a similarity between the typeset of a machine also used by Sutton and letters written by the Squealer. To make Sutton confess, he is tricked by Mrs. Mulford in cooperation with the police into drinking what he believes to be poisoned tea.
