Apparaissant le plus souvent au cinéma dans des petits rôles, Irving Bacon participe entre 1923 et 1958 à plus de 500 films américains, dont près de 60 films muets. À plusieurs reprises, il retrouve le réalisateur Frank Capra, notamment dans L'Homme de la rue en 1941, où il joue le rôle de Beany, l'un de ses plus remarqués.Pour la télévision, il participe à quelques séries, de 1950 à 1960.

An embittered cavalry sergeant must take over his regiment after their commanding officer is killed during an ambush. Vinson is driven by his hatred of Apaches, who were responsible for the death of his wife and children. He and his remaining men, including Travis and McGurney, try to ride 100 miles to the safety of Fort Crane, a fictional analogue of Fort Craig in New Mexico territory. Along the way they attack an Indian band, despite being heavily outnumbered. Vinson's vengeance knows no bounds, until Travis is ultimately forced to take a stand and confront him.

Esther Blodgett is a talented aspiring singer with a band, and Norman Maine is a former matinee idol with a career in the early stages of decline. When he arrives intoxicated at a function at the Shrine Auditorium, the studio publicist attempts to keep him away from reporters. After an angry exchange, Norman rushes away and bursts onto a stage where an orchestra is performing. Set prior to the Civil War but after the South has seceded from the U.S., Kansas Pacific centres of the efforts to build a railroad across Kansas toward the West Coast.
