Joaquim António Portugal Baptista de Almeida (born 15 March 1957) is a Portuguese actor. He began his acting doing some theater. During the 1980s, he started his film career appearing on the 1982 action film The Soldier, and later achieved recognition for playing Andrea Bonanno in the 1987 Italian film Good Morning, Babylon. He achieved international fame with his portrayals of Félix Cortez in the 1994 thriller Clear and Present Danger and Bucho in the 1995 action thriller Desperado. Several years later, he became popular for playing Ramon Salazar on the Fox thriller drama series 24, between 2003 and 2004, and Hernan Reyes in 2011 street racing film Fast Five.
Being fluent in several languages, Almeida has worked in several countries in Europe and the Americas, in many film and stage productions, winning some international awards in films like Retrato de Família, Adão e Eva and O Xangô de Baker Street. His other well-known films include The Honorary Consul (1983), Only You (1994), La Cucaracha (1998), One Man's Hero (1999), Behind Enemy Lines (2001), Whore (2004), The Death and Life of Bobby Z (2007), Che: Part Two (2008), The Burning Plain (2008), and The Gilded Cage (2013).

Il abandonne les cours de théâtre de l'École supérieure de théâtre et du cinéma de Lisbonne et part pour les États-Unis où il reçoit une formation au Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute de New York. Il a travaillé pour un théâtre dans Productions de Shakespeare à New York (New York Shakespeare Productions). Il a travaillé dans d'autres pièces, Noces de sang de Federico García Lorca, What Would Jeanne Moreau do (WPA Theatre) ou Le Comte de Monte-Cristo d'Alexandre Dumas.Avec presque 60 emplois différents dans le cinéma, Joaquim de Almeida est le plus international des acteurs portugais, il parle couramment sept langues et a joué avec de grands noms du cinéma international. At Kinetech Labs, an inventor named Allan Topher designs a robot for search and rescue, but when he finds out that the robot will be used for military purposes, he programs the robot to flee. The robot escapes but is damaged in the process. It is discovered by 12-year-old Henry Keller, who fixes it and names it Cody. The robot does not remember its past, and Henry and Cody develop a friendship. Eventually, Cody regains his memory and Henry gives Cody back. The inventor feels guilty for taking Cody away, so he returns the robot to Henry. Allan meets Henry's mother, Joanna, and they get along really well. Kinetech finds and corners Cody and Henry. Cody activates another function of his, and takes off with Henry, flying high up into the sky. They reunite with Meagan but when they call their mother, they find out that Kinetech has kidnapped both their mother and Allan so that they can get the robot back. Meagan, Henry and Cody embark to save them and to bring down Kinetech.

When Dominic "Dom" Toretto is being transported to Lompoc Prison by bus, his sister Mia Toretto and friend Brian O'Conner lead an assault on the bus, causing it to crash and freeing Dom. Reyes orders the pair be interrogated to discover the location of the car, but they manage to escape and retreat to their safehouse.
