The movie starts off with Narendan Achari(Salim Kumar) at a shop with his daughter who has been treated with brain tumour. He is distracted for some time during which his daughter goes missing. In a frenzy he rushes to the nearest police station but is frustrated at their lack of efforts at finding her. Later he is seen driving away in his car and causing an accident involving a petroleum tanker. There are casualties and the police and the fire force arrive and try to contain the situation. However, the tanker springs a leak and a police officer inadvertly causes an explosion despite Asams' best efforts to thwart this. Asams is wounded in the ensuing explosion destroying his lower body. Fire man Vijay(Mammooty) appears heroically to the scene and takes over the reins of the disaster avertment plans that Colin Francis had been heading previously. Vijay and the police force clashes as to what action plan to take. In the ensuing fight Vijay is given full reins of the project and a humiliated Colin chooses to depart from the scene with his long time girlfriend Jyo. As the film progresses it is found that this had all been the master project of a man identified only as Kanjan to break someone out of the central jail. However the force is left with no option but to vacate the jail which is when Kanjan has decided to break the prisoner. Vijay locks himself in the jail in order to find out who the wannabe free prisoner is and finds the culprit successfully thwarting a major disaster.

Vijay was asked to marry Pavitra by her dad and Pavitra is testing whether Vijay is the right guy for her. After spending a day with Pavitra, Vijay hits MerinNanditha, a nurse who has just arrived from India to work in London, while driving back home. Her wrist gets paralysed after the accident. Vijay takes care of her and eventually falls in love with Merin and vice versa. Pavitra's dad and FrancisMukesh fix Vijay's and Pavitra's marriage. But when he refuses to marry her, Francis forces him to get married to Pavitra because of her wealth. Merin's job agreement gets terminated because they think that she is physically unfit. Francis tries to help her but he fails.Eventually, Francis forces Vijay to not give her false hopes and gift her a sum of money and let her go back to India. Merin refuses the amount of money gifted and asks him to show her around London before she leaves. Then Merin goes back to India. The next day, her aunt GracLena calls Vijay to tell that Merin has not reached her home yet. Grac's husband ThamikuttySunil, tells them that he will go to India to enquire about Merin but Vijay says that he will go because he is the one who is supposed to go. Pavitra's dad try to force him to stay, but Vijay says that he really likes Merin and he will go to India, no matter what. Pavitra helps him to go to India by convincing her dad to not stop him and personally drops him to the airport. Vijay reaches India. While in a taxi, Francis calls Vijay and directs him to go to Merin's home. Vijay reaches Merin's home to find her house being seized to debt. He finds out that Merin has reached home safely. The movie ends by Vijay reavealing to Pavitra that Merin had reached home safely, but lied to make Vijay realize his love for her.

Mannar Mathai (Innocent) is now running a travel agency Urvashi Tours & Travels,his partners in this agency are his old mates Gopalakrishnan (Mukesh) and Balakrishnan (Saikumar). Their drama group which was started in 1989, is celebrating its 25th anniversary and Manaar Mathai wants to perform a drama on this occasion. But Gopalakrishnan & Balakrishnan are not ready for this because their previous attempts in drama led them to nothing but problems. When they need a driver for their agency, they give an Ad in the news paper. But Mathayi also gives an extra Ad which says "Heroine required" which leads Nithya to reach their agency. Entry of the old villan Mahendra Varma (Biju Menon) complicates the setting. Rest of the movie is the fight between Mahendra Varma, Hareendra Varma & Ramji Rao (Ramji Rao has given up his wicked ways and has converted to a Christian, becoming a well-known pastor called Kunjumon, meaning "little boy" in Malayalam and is later revealed to be Nithya's father).

The story unfolds the events happening in just four hours of a day in two cities - Kochi and Chennai. Balu (Aju Varghese) who goes to Chennai to attend an interview falls into a trap in the few minutes he goes out of the call centre office to make a phone call. He contacts his friend Kishore (Indrajith), an ad filmmaker and his friend, to help him with some money. Kishore, who is in Kochi, has an equally crucial day. His wife Surya (Mamta Mohandas) is returning to his life as the couple has been living separate for some time. Kishore sets aside his plans to reconcile with his wife to help his friend. However, he fails to gather enough money to help Balu. How money changes the life of these characters forms the rest of the story.

The movie begins with Chandu (Siddharth Narayan) and Siri (Shruti Haasan) as childhood friends. Chandu and Siri call each other "Faltoos" and "Killer", respectively, affectionately. Their friendship remains intact even as they grow up. Chandu who was sent to mumbai to do MBA, instead learns music and returns home which leads to agony of his father. However, Siri convinces Chandu's father that it is her responsibility to take care of Chandu's career. They go for an audition there they get a fight with a band and he is sent out of the audition. Prior to that, Siri accepts the love proposal by Uday (Navdeep), who lives in US after consulting Chandu. Later, Chandu and Siri accidentally meet their common friend in college, Ritu Sharma (Hansika Motwani) and Chandu falls in love with her at first sight. Chandu starts spending time with Ritu to impress her, but Siri feels that she is being avoided. Siri decides to leave for a dancing School at Chennai. Meanwhile, Ritu accepts Chandu's love proposal. When Siri is about to leave, Chandu apologises her that he had not noticed that she was being avoided. At the same time, Uday comes back from US to surprise her. Hence, she decides not to leave.
