He is in love with Swetha (Monal), who is very possessive about him. In one of the many practical jokes played by him, he tells Swetha one day that he is already married. He even introduces her to Mamta who is a model working for him and she convinces Swetha that they are married. Monal is heartbroken and decides to marry a boy whom her parents chose. When Vikram comes to know this, he comes back and tells her that everything was a planned joke. But to his shock Mamta who was his college mate turns against him and continues to tell Swetha that she is Vikram’s wife. Mamtha has an axe to grind against Vikram, because of whom her father had to committed suicide while they were in college. Pop Karnas who is in charge of the comedy, tries to bring the lovers together. Finally all ends well.
Thiru (Sarath Kumar) and Surya (Suresh Gopi) are inseparable friends. They are so close to each other that Thiru selects a bride for Surya and Surya for Thiru. Their friendship is carried over from their grandfathers and fathers who were thick friends. Thiru brings up Surya's daughter, because Thiru has no children. Shankara (Ashish Vidyarthi) wants to separate them and does all that he could to separate them.

A 3rd character gets entangled in the plot and Laila is compelled by her family to marry him. Heart-broken Suriya leaves her alone, but only to find out that the man she is engaged to marry is a total crook. In trying to prove this to Laila, Suriya always ends up in situations where he looks like the crook. Infuriated and disgusted Laila yells at Suriya telling him to back off. Suriya then officially leaves her alone. Sneha gets weaved into the plot and ends up falling for Suriya's charm, and fastidious behaviour and they end up having great times together, that is until Laila comes back all heart-broken after finding out her boyfriend wants nothing further to do with her as he was going to marry someone else. Upon seeing this Suriya becomes greatly disturbed and helps Laila out in all the ways he can. In the end Laila is moving back to her hometown and at the train station asks for Suriya's hand in marriage, only to find that he is not interested. He states that love isn't like a tape-recorder to play over and over again, it only comes once. He tells her he is now only interested in Sneha who will wait for him all her life. He sees her off and is leaving the train station when Sneha runs up to him. They both smile at each other and walk off into the sun set.
Subramani (Adhitya), a timid and rich Brahmin boy, falls in love with Lakshmi (Poonam), a poor girl. Raja (Chinni Jayanth), a rich drunkard, joins the college. Raja falls for Lakshmi but later withdraws and Raja is content to remain her good friend. Subramani begins to suspect the relationship between Raja and Lakshmi. Subramani becomes a drunkard although Raja stops drinking alcohol.
Rathi (Kushboo), a music video director, lives with her husband Ravi (Nassar) and their two kids. However, she is unaware that her husband Ravi is in fact a robber. He carries out smart crimes with his partner Sabesan (Prakash Raj). The police officer Dev (Thalaivasal Vijay) is pressured to arrest them. After a diamond heist which gone wrong, Ravi finally gets caught while Sabesan escapes. Ravi managed to hide the diamonds in his house before being hauled off by the police. During the police custody, Ravi is shot by Dev, injuring him heavily. So Ravi is moved to the hospital and the doctors eventually saves his life. Thereafter, Sabesan goes to his ward and he questions Ravi about the diamonds. Sabesan even killed his partner to leave oneself a way out. Sabesan is now urged to find the diamonds and enters Rathi's household as Ravi's friend. What transpires later forms the crux of the story.
