Roberto Farias (born March 27, 1932) is a Brazilian film director, producer and screenwriter. He has directed 15 films since 1957. His 1982 film Pra Frente, Brasil was entered into the 33rd Berlin International Film Festival.

Santiago du Chili, aujourd'hui. Teresa, assistante sociale spécialisée dans la contraception, croit tout contrôler dans sa vie jusqu'au jour où elle apprend que sa fille de 15 ans est enceinte. Edmundo, un coiffeur de 40 ans sans ambition vit encore chez sa mère et veut s'acheter une voiture ou... renouveler le caveau familial. Mario, clarinettiste, postule à l'orchestre philharmonique mais finit dans celui des carabiniers. Quant à Patricia, mère d'un jeune bébé, elle se laisse aller à la dérive, emportée par le courant de la vie. Ces habitants se croisent dans la cité en mouvement sans se voir, absorbés par le quotidien de leur propre existence.

The film's history passes in 1999. The tomboyish, outgoing Julieta is the daughter of a member of the Palmeiras soccer club board. She is constantly frustrated by what she sees as institutional bias against women in soccer. One day while watching her beloved Palmeiras, she is struck by a handsome man, Romeu, that she sees rooting for the Palmeiras' chief rivals, the Corinthians. After meeting the same man again in the middle of eye exam, Julieta and Romeu quickly become a couple. However, in order to avoid incurring the wrath of her parents, Romeu is forced to pretend to be an adoring Palmeiras fan, an increasingly difficult task for the die-hard Corinthiano.
