Taurean Blacque (born Herbert Middleton Jr. in Newark, New Jersey, May 10, 1941) is an American television and stage actor, best known for his role as Detective Neal Washington on the series Hill Street Blues. He has said he chose the name "Taurean" because his astrological sign is Taurus. He also is a past national spokesman for adoptive services, having been one of the first single black men in the United States to adopt a child. Blacque has told reporters that he is a born-again Christian and his faith influenced his desire to be involved with adoption.
Au début de sa carrière d'acteur, Blacque fait des apparitions dans de nombreuses sitcoms dont Sanford and Son, The Bob Newhart Show , The Tony Randall Show , Good Times et Taxi.
En 1981, il rejoint le casting de la série Capitaine Furillo, et ce jusqu’en 1987. Bien que n’ayant qu’un second rôle, il a été nommé pour un Emmy Award du Meilleur acteur dans une série dramatique, en 1982, mais ce fut Michael Conrad, son collègue dans la même série, qui l’obtint. Durant cette période, Il poursuit sa carrière au théâtre et obtient un NAACP Image Award comme meilleur acteur, en 1985.
Après Hill Street Blues, Taurean Blacque déménage à Atlanta, dans l’État de Géorgie, et avec ses enfants, dans sa nouvelle maison, il se consacre à sa carrière théâtrale, tout en faisant des apparitions à la télévision.
Ses prestations scéniques sont remarquées, notamment dans Stepping Into Tomorrow avec Yolanda King en 1987, et une apparition dans Ceremonies in Dark Old Men, en 1988.
Il tourne pour la télévision un pilote, Off-Duty, sur CBS, dans lequel il joue de nouveau un rôle de policier, mais la série n’obtint pas de succès.
On retrouvera Taurean Blacque dans un petit rôle dans le film d'animation Oliver et Compagnie de Disney, en 1989.
La même année, il joue le rôle de Henry Marshall dans la série Générations, sur NBC…
Toujours en 1989, on le retrouve dans le film M.A.L., mutant aquatique en liberté, dans son premier rôle.

DeepStar Six is a prototype deep-sea colony funded by the United States Navy with a collection of 11 military and civilian crew members in the last week of their six month tour. The brainchild of Dr. Van Gelder, the base is allowed to conduct its experiment on underwater colonization provided that he also oversee the installation of a nuclear missile storage platform nearby. Nearing the last days of his deadline, Van Gelder's plans are threatened when geologist Burciaga (Elya Baskin) discovers a massive cavern system at the installation site. Van Gelder orders the submarine crew to use depth charges to collapse the cavern, to the dismay of Dr. Scarpelli (Nia Peeples), who wants to preserve the cavern to study the potentially primordial ecosystem she suspects lies inside.

On the streets of Fifth Avenue, an orphaned kitten named Oliver is left abandoned after his fellow orphaned kittens are adopted by passersby. Wandering the streets by himself in search of someone to adopt him, Oliver meets a laid-back dog named Dodger who assists the kitten in stealing food from a hot dog vendor named Louie. Dodger then flees the scene without sharing his bounty with Oliver. Oliver follows Dodger all throughout the streets until he eventually arrives at the barge of his owner, a pickpocket named Fagin, along with his meal, to give to his friends: Tito the Chihuahua, Einstein the Great Dane, Rita the Saluki and Francis the Bulldog. Oliver sneaks into their home, located below the city's docks, and is discovered by the dogs. After a moment of confusion, Oliver is then received with a warm welcome. Fagin, owner of the dogs, comes in and explains that he is running out of time to repay the money he borrowed from Sykes, a ruthless shipyard agent and loan shark. Sykes tells Fagin the money must be paid in three days, or else. Sykes' Dobermans Roscoe and DeSoto attack Oliver but the cat is defended by Fagin's dogs. Immediately thereafter, a depressed Fagin returns to the barge, lamenting that he has only three days to find the money he owes Sykes. After the dogs cheer him up, Fagin is introduced to Oliver, and, considering that they all need help, accepts him into the gang.

Following the fight at the end of Rocky, in which Apollo Creed has successfully defended his heavyweight title in a split decision, he and Rocky are taken to the same hospital. Apollo challenges Rocky to a rematch, but Rocky declines and announces his retirement. His girlfriend Adrian supports this choice, as do his doctors, who reveal he will require surgery for a detached retina, which could lead to permanent blindness. After Rocky is discharged from the hospital, he enjoys the benefits of his life's changes: Rocky's new fame attracts an agent who sees Rocky as a potential endorsement and sponsorship goldmine, and his sudden wealth encourages him to propose to Adrian. She happily accepts, and they marry in a small ceremony. Soon after, Rocky and Adrian happily learn that Adrian is pregnant.
