Synopsis
Anandh (Shaam), an MBA Chartered Accountant, runs from pillar to post in search of job. He stays in the house of an old Brahmin whose daughter Chandra (Sneha) returns home following the death of her husband (Sharavana Subbaiya), who had been torturing her since their wedding. She slowly gets attracted towards Anandh for he shows love and affection towards her.Actors

A district collector, a judge, and a police official are all kidnapped in broad daylight. The kidnapper cocking-a-snook at the establishment, calling himself 'Citizen' and appearing in different disguises to get at his targets. C.B.I. officer Sarojini (Nagma) finally traces the common factor among the kidnapped trio to the fictional hamlet of Athippatti, consisting of fishermen. But to her surprise both the village and its 690 odd inhabitants seemed to have been wiped away from the face of the official gazette maps. The diggings tell a story of a mass massacre that must have taken place about a couple of decades back. 'Citizen' is finally apprehended. He comes out with his story of the gory happenings at Athippatti and how he, as a little boy, had been the sole survivor of the nightmare that gripped the village that day from the map of India, twenty years back. The entire village was wiped off including women and children by the three kidnapped officials because of their greed for power and money. Ajith wants the citizenship of the three government officials revoked including their families as a punishment for their atrocities to the inhabitants of Athippatti.

The story revolves around two spoiled youngsters: Johns Isaac (Dulquer Salmaan) and his cousin Korah (Jacob Gregory). Johns is the son of a billionaire named Isaac (Lalu Alex) who is settled in New York, while Korah's mother left for Paris with her new husband. The story evolves around Raja (Vikram), a business management student and professional magician living in Hong Kong with his single-father, Shanmugam (Nassar), who he loves a lot. Then one day, they end up in a car accident, and when Shanmugam is in need of blood, he is given an unanalyzed amount of blood which was infected with multiple sclerosis. Dr. Cheenu suggests to Raja that he take his father to his old home in India, and to keep him happy for the last 2 months of his life. It is then that Raja finds out that Shanmugam was exiled from his home 25 years ago because he had a love marriage. But all that changes when the family meets him again, and when they meet Raja for the first time. However, Shanmmugam's father still doesn't talk to his son until Raja threatens him by attempting suicide. It is around then that Raja meets his crush, named Tamil (Sneha). It is revealed that Tamil's father and Shanmugam were good friends, and he gives her a picture of him with her father. Shanmugam also says that Tamil is the ideal daughter-in-law. Meanwhile, Raja is doing a countdown of his father's life, trying to express his love to Tamil, and entertaining his cousins.

Bhoopathy (Vijay) is a happy-go-lucky person who is very relaxed in life, as shown when he falls asleep in a train and misses his station. He goes to Villivakkam in search of Vishwanathan (Nassar) who is his father Mani's (Manivannan) best friend. Kattabomman (Vadivelu) is Vishwanathan's assistant who torments Bhoopathy right from the day they meet. Vishwanathan's first daughter Priya (Sneha) initially hates Bhoopathy and they are at constant loggerheads at each other. When Priya's aunt (Suhasini Mani Ratnam) is going to leave they again fight and the same old revenge story takes place. Soon,however, Priya falls for Bhoopathy. When Bhoopathy comes to know about this, he is reminded of his father's words that he should not make him ask forgiveness to his friend under any circumstances. Although Bhoopathy also likes Priya he controls his emotions and keeps silent. He tries to leave but is caught by Vishwanathan and is forced to come back. Price receives a call from her friend to cone for her wedding. On the insistence of Priya's younger sister, Vishwanathan sends Bhoopathy along with them. There the groom Sriman (Sriman) makes him drunk and he reveals his feelings about Priya. They become friends soon. Then they all go to Black World and a photographer (Pandiarajan) they meet takes a photo of Bhoopathy and Priya holding hands. Bhoopathy keeps avoiding Priya as he is reminded of his promise to his father but cannot forget her. Soon the groom's family arrives and around the same time Mani arrives. Eventually, while the marriage preparations are going strong, the groom's father (Nizhalgal Ravi) finds the photo and the wedding is called off. In the railway station, Bhoopathy tries to convince the groom but in vain. After a few dilemmas by Priya's mother (Meera Krishna) and Priya's aunt,Vishwanathan arrives at the railway station to see Bhoopathy arguing with the groom's family and forces the groom to leave. He finds out the true reasons behind Bhoopathy's backing out and finally unites Bhoopathy with Priya.

Krishna (Jayam Ravi) is a happy-go-lucky youth who excels in every field, but always does strange and dangerous things to obtain a certain "kick"- a thrill or excitement that he craves. One such activity is secretly double-crossing his childhood friend Dass (Sathyan) while helping him elope. At this point, he meets Nisha (Tamannaah) who is shocked at his recklessness and writes him off as crazy. Krishna, however, sets his sights on Nisha and woos her in a very unorthodox way; he begs her not to fall in love with him. After a host of comical situations involving Krishna's caring but easy-going parents (Prabhu and Suhasini), local thugs (John Vijay and Mayilsamy), and an ever-present comic relief named Jackson (Vadivelu), Nisha accepts Krishna's love. However she sets a condition; Krishna must stay in a well-paying job- he had resigned from other jobs due to lack of "kick"- and only then will she agree to marry him. Krishna accepts, but soon resigns again for the same reason and tries to hide it from Nisha. When she finds out, Nisha breaks up with him and leaves him for good.

The film tries to work on the old saying "hell hath no fury like a woman scorned". Divya (Divya Spandana) is an upcoming model in London who meets Sriram (Shaam) an IT guy and falls in love. They sleep together but Sriram leaves her when Divya's boss tells him to stay out of her life if he wants to see her make it big. Divya feels betrayed when she finds out but does not know that her boss is the reason behind the split. Divya does achieve her dream and becomes a top model but is on a revenge romp to wreak havoc in Sriram’s happily married life to Anjali (Sandhya). Sandhya, is a cheerful girl whose only sorrow in life is that she doesn't have a child. And when she finally has a baby after 4 years of marriage to Sriram, Divya comes into her life and takes the baby away, saying that that is her baby. What happens after that forms the climax of the movie.

Unusually, this is not a film dominated by a male protagonist. Instead, it chooses to revolve around the life of Sala (short for Visalatchi) played by Sneha, who when the film begins is about to complete her master's degree.
