Akale is a 2004 Malayalam film by Shyamaprasad, inspired by the American classic play The Glass Menagerie by Tennessee Williams. The movie stars Prithviraj Sukumaran, Sheela, Geetu Mohandas and Tom George Kolath in lead roles.

Synopsis

The film is the story about an Anglo-Indian family who lives in Kerala. Neil (Prithviraj Sukumaran) is a disturbed youth working as a clerk in a factory for low wages. His intention is to become a writer. He lives with his mother (Sheela) and sister (Geetu Mohandas). His father was a Portuguese sailor who he left the family when the children were very young. Rose, his sister is slightly handicapped and because of this, she is always in the shell. She is very much interested in glass figurines. Margret, Neil's mother hates his care-free attitude towards life and his late-night movies. She is a very possessive mother and she is always worried about the future of her daughter. One day Neil invites his co-worker Freddy (Tom George Kolath) for a dinner at his home. Neil's mother and daughter thinks that Freddy will get interested in Rose and they can marry her off but their dreams get crushed when they comes to know that Freddie is already engaged and Rose passes away years later.

Varun Blake is an Indian-born Atlanta police detective that is deeply affected by various incidents in his life like the loss of his biological family in India, the move to a predominantly white school in The States, and the death of his partner. He develops into a temperamental and disturbed man, forcing his Indian wife, Roshni to divorce him and move out of their home with their daughter. Varun then gets into a complicated rebound relationship with a local news reporter, Kate. After gaining American citizenship, Roshni gets a job at a newly outsourced Indian company based in Atlanta called InfoTech. She soon discovers that the company's young but successful director is her childhood friend, Krish Hebbar. The two start seeing each other outside the office, much to Varun's dismay since he still has feelings for his ex-wife. Things take a turn for the worst when several Indian-born young men working for outsourced companies have been found murdered by a professional serial killer. The only link is that all the murder victims knew Krish. Varun brings him in for questioning but does not have enough evidence to arrest him. At around the same time, Krish's true colours are revealed when he blackmails his boss into giving him a promotion, forcing Roshni to leave him on the night he plans to propose. After more investigation, Varun learns that the real murderer is a former soldier who was fired from several jobs who were then taken by Indian immigrants. The soldier comes for Krish, who took over his job several years ago.He is finally saved by Varun. In the end, Krish marries Roshni and they move back to India to work for the Indian branch of their company to be closer to family.

Artist traces the journey of two artists — Michael Agnelo (Fahadh Faasil), son of a Goan businessman, and Gayatri (Ann Augustine), who hails from a conservative Brahmin family. Nakshathrakkannulla Rajakumaran Avanundoru Rajakumari revolves around a family that claims that they are the descendants of the brave chekavars, who were the warriors of the Vadakkanpaattu. Bhageerathi Amma (K.R.Vijaya) has two sons, Veerabhadra Kurup (Narendra Prasad) and Kochchukurup (Kalabhavan Mani), and a daughter Subhadra (Sicily), who constantly feud with each other. The elder Kurup’s daughter Aswathy (Gayathri Raghuram) is in love with her muracherukkan, Subhadra’s son Ananthu (Prithviraj), but their parents object to the match. They are encouraged by Chandutty (Jagathy Sreekumar), Bhaskaran (Tharikida Sabu) and Shankunni (Baiju). They hope that Aswathy’s brother Karthik (Renju) will come to their rescue. But he turns against the lovers on the advice of his father. Suddenly, Raziya Begum (Anjali Krishna) turns up, claiming to be Karthik’s lover. Ananthu and his gang use this opportunity to fix Karthik, and Kochukurup gives them a lot of muscle support. After a lot of buffoonery and mistaken identity, the couple are united. The movie was the debut of Actor 'Prithviraj'. This film is a box office disaster.
