Synopsis
Billy (Dempsey), is a well dressed bank robber who decides to do one last heist so he can sail off to a tropical island with his girlfriend, Selina (d'Abo). On his last robbery, he forgets to destroy a surveillance camera. He then must hide out in the Heartbreak Hotel until he can get out of trouble.Actors

A bank is simultaneously attacked by two groups of robbers: three high-tech professionals and two rustic buffoons. One bystander is quickly shot and killed, apparently by accident, and seven hostages taken. One of the hostages, an obsessive-compulsive customer, notices several puzzling details, from which he guesses that the coincidence was intentional: the robbers (among others) were lured here, with misleading blueprints and defective equipment, so that another criminal – at the top of the FBI's wanted list of bank robbers – could kill them to cover his own trail.

Former covert operative Bryan Mills visits his daughter, Kim, who has just discovered she's pregnant, at her L.A. apartment to deliver an early birthday gift. After an awkward visit, he invites his ex-wife, Lenore, to dinner. The film is about a prisoner awaiting execution. Denver Bayliss (Kiefer Sutherland) gains an unlikely friend and confidant in Fred Whitmore (Forest Whitaker), a former cop who is now a prison guard.
