The film used footage from the films Digimon Adventure (デジモンアドベンチャー, Dejimon Adobenchā, 1999), Digimon Adventure: Our War Game! (デジモンアドベンチャー ぼくらのウォーゲーム!, Dejimon Adobenchā: Bokura no Wō Gēmu!, 2000), and Digimon Adventure 02: Digimon Hurricane Touchdown!!/Supreme Evolution!! The Golden Digimentals (デジモンアドベンチャー02 前編・デジモンハリケーン上陸!!／後編・超絶進化!!黄金のデジメンタル, Dejimon Adobenchā Zero Tsū: Zenpen: Dejimon Harikēn Jōriku!!/Kōhen: Chōzetsu Shinka!! Ōgon no Dejimentaru, 2000). In comparison to the original films, Digimon: The Movie had a significant degree of editing, with more than 40 minutes of scenes from the individual Japanese versions cut out to save time and several plot changes. The main theme song to the movie is the "Digi Rap", a remixed and re-working of the theme song from the TV series. The track is performed by M.C. Pea Pod and Paul Gordon.
Synopsis
A four-minute short film featuring characters from the Angela Anaconda series appeared before the film in the theatrical and home media releases. In this segment, Angela and her friends line up to watch Digimon: The Movie, but Nannette and her friends cut in line since they have passes. As Angela makes a mad dash to save seats for her friends, Mrs. Brinks (with help from Nannette) sits in front of her, blocking her view. Angela scornfully imagines herself Digivolving into Angelamon to defeat Mrs. Brinks and Nannette, removing all obstacles in enjoying her movie. However, everyone in the audience realizes they are in the wrong movie, so they quickly leave to go to the correct theater, leaving Mrs. Brinks and Nannette behind with the latter covered in food.Actors

Un soir, au Highton View Terrace, à Tokyo, un œuf constitué de données virtuelles émane de l'écran d'ordinateur de deux jeunes enfants : Taichi et sa petite sœur Hikari. Peu après, l'œuf éclot et une étrange créature en sort. Le monstre évolue progressivement, devenant de plus en plus gros et puissant (il finit par devenir une sorte de dinosaure jaune), ce qui ne manque pas de poser problème lorsqu'il décide de parcourir la ville avec la petite Hikari sur son dos. Taichi se lance à leur poursuite, constatant les dégâts que la créature a provoqués. C'est alors que dans le ciel, un second œuf, cette fois gigantesque, apparaît et une autre créature, ressemblant à une sorte d'aigle — Parrotmon — surgit alors. Les deux monstres se lancent dans un féroce combat au cours duquel le dinosaure se transforme une nouvelle fois en une créature encore plus impressionnante, Greymon. Taichi et Hikari, ainsi que plusieurs autres enfants, assistent à la lutte. Grâce aux encouragements des deux enfants, l'ennemi est terrassé dans une immense explosion.

In October 1957, after the Russian satellite Sputnik is put into orbit, an enormous robot from outer space crashes into the ocean near Rockwell, Maine. The robot makes it inland and wanders into the forest. Nine-year-old Hogarth Hughes soon discovers the robot one night. The robot begins eating the powerlines of an electrical substation, then gets electrocuted. Hogarth shuts down the power, saving the robot, and returns home. Several days later, Hogarth makes it his mission to find the robot and take a picture. After hours of waiting, the robot surprises Hogarth, who soon befriends him. Suffering amnesia, the Iron Giant accompanies Hogarth wherever he goes. When they come across a railroad, the Giant starts eating the rails. Hearing an oncoming train, Hogarth tells the Giant to repair the tracks. As he does, the train collides, breaking him to pieces. The Giant's parts start to reassemble, and Hogarth hides the damaged robot in his house's barn, where the parts can repair themselves.

In the Other World, a teenage "oni" guarding a spirit cleansing machine turns the volume of his walkman up so loud that he fails to change the evil essence tank when necessary. Due to the overload of evil essence, the machine explodes and the "oni" is transformed into a huge-childlike monster with power over the laws regarding the worlds of the living and the dead. As a result, both worlds are thrown into chaos: in the living world, several deceased are brought back to life, while in the other world, beings who were allowed to keep their bodies turn into spirits, and vice versa.

Durant les vacances d'été, un digimon de type virus fait son apparition sur Internet, ce qui ne manque pas d'inquiéter Koushiro (Izzy dans la version française) qui file alors chez Taichi (Tai) pour lui faire partager sa découverte. Usant de l'ordinateur du père de Taichi et avec l'aide de Gennai, les deux enfants envoie leur partenaires digimon respectifs, Agumon et Tentomon, pour attaquer le nouvel ennemi, qui s'avère être le digimon Keramon. Toutefois, ce dernier se transforme en Infermon qui bat alors les deux monstres. Taichi tente d'appeler des renforts mais Infermon commence à corrompre tout le réseau et la communication devient très compliqué. Il parvient toutefois à contacter Yamato (Matt) et Takeru (T.K.) et très vite, WarGreymon et MetalGarurumon sont envoyés à l'attaque. Infermon se transforme alors à nouveau et devient Diablomon (Diaboromon en version française). À cause d'un geste maladroit de Taichi, la connexion internet est coupée et WarGreymon est alors à la merci du monstre qui s'enfuit une fois le combat terminé. Les enfants apprennent alors que Diablomon a piraté le Pentagone pour envoyer un missile nucléaire qui explosera dans les dix minutes sur une destination inconnue. Le seul espoir d'empêcher cela est de détruire Diablomon.

Soren, a young Barn owl, lives in the Tyto Forest with his family: his father, Noctus; his mother, Marella; his older brother, Kludd; his younger sister, Eglantine; and Mrs. P, the family's nest maid, a kindly blind snake. Soren enjoys listening to the 'Legends of Ga'Hoole,' which are mythical tales of warrior owls called the Guardians who fight against the Pure Ones. Kludd berates his brother's dreams, having grown tired of listening to the stories. Un enfant, Wallace (Willis dans la version française), court joyeusement à travers une prairie américaine en compagnie de ses deux digimon : Chocomon (Kokomon) et Gummymon. Dans leurs dos, une petite tornade s'élève et lorsque Wallace se retourne, Chocomon a disparu. Quelques années plus tard, Takeru (T.K) et Hikari (Kari) sont venus rendre visite à Mimi à New York lorsqu'ils tombent sur un digimon (il s'agit en réalité de Wendigomon, soit Kokomon transformé) qui fait alors disparaître Mimi ainsi que tous les autres digisauveurs, sauf Takeru, Hikari et la nouvelle génération d'enfants, dans une autre dimension. Les adolescents captifs rajeunissent progressivement et on comprend que Wendigomon est à la recherche de l'enfant qu'était Wallace avant qu'ils ne soient séparés. Daisuke (Davis), Miyako (Yolei) et Iori (Cody) partent à leur tour aux États-Unis pour venir en aide à leurs compagnons. Ils rencontrent en chemin Wallace et son partenaire Terriermon (soit Gummymon transformé) tandis que Takeru et Hikari sont coincés dans un train. Wendigomon attaque le groupe avant de s'enfuir et Wallace finit par avouer pendant la nuit qu'il s'agit bien de son Digimon. Il décide finalement de mettre hors d'état de nuire ce dernier, car devenu trop dangereux pour autrui. Daisuke et les autres promettent de l'aider.
