Synopsis
Advocate Anand Mathur (Shekhar Suman) draws up a will for his client, while reading the novel "Godfather", and erroneously makes out the will with a provision that the beneficiary must be a criminal Don in order to inherit the billions of rupees. The beneficiary is a bachelor named Rahul Bhargav (Sunil Shetty), who wants no part of being a Don, criminal or anything of the sort. His police inspector girlfriend, Kanchan Dhillon (Raveena Tandon), has set her sights on the billions, and makes him change his mind. She assures him that she will use her influence and ensure that he gets to be the Don in no time at all, little realizing that this will change their lives forever, and make them captives in neighbouring and hostile Pakistan.Actors

Raju is a waiter in a popular hotel. He is in love with Geeta (Karisma Kapoor), a famous news anchor. He is obsessed with her news segment. His big dream is to meet and marry her one day. He is assigned to feed the hotel customers, and meets Mr. Desai who is also staying in his hotel. On his way out of Mr Desai's hotel room, he sees an unknown stranger named Ketu (Shakti Kapoor) going into his room. By the time Raju gets on the bottom floor, he sees blood dripping down from the top, and sees Mr Desai lying dead on the side of his room window. To investigate the murder, is assigned to Geeta who comes to the hotel to interview people. Raju is dying to meet her, and the only chance to meet his love, is to lie. Besides, she is engaged to her channel's head Rohit (Rohit Roy).

The story is about Priya Bakshi (Preity Zinta), the daughter of Gulshan (Anupam Kher) and Rohini Bakshi (Farida Jalal). Priya's parents, brothers and best friend, Ajay (Chandrachur Singh) love and support her. Ajay is secretly in love with her, and wishes to marry her in the future. But as she enters her first year in college, she catches the eye of Rahul (Saif Ali Khan) who quickly becomes attracted to her. She succumbs to his charm but her brothers and parents are unsure about Rahul. His womanizing worries them and they tell her to stay away from him. However, Priya is unable to leave Rahul. She convinces her parents to meet him but when they talk about marriage he backs off and he leaves Priya. Priya is devastated but moves on with her life. She later learns that she is pregnant with Rahul's child. Her parents go back to Rahul to talk about marriage but to their shock he refuses to marry her. Priya is faced with a decision, and she chooses to keep the child. Her decision prompts her father to chuck her out the house. Alone and neglected Priya is devastated. Later; however her parents and brothers find it hard to live without her and they bring her back. But now she has to face the society and overcome the disdain of her neighbors, among others. Society virtually ostracizes her and her family. Upon going back to college she finds out that all of her friends now mock her, and girls prefer to stay away from her due to her bleak character. During all this time Ajay sticks by her like a true savior, and Priya starts falling for him. With his support and with the courage she was nurturing in her womb, she makes people realize that she isn't a fornicator, but a girl who loved someone immensely. She could have gotten rid of the child she holds in her body, but she didn't because her child was a being and not a piece of trash. She says that if only she had gotten married, maybe the scenarios would have been different, maybe her child would have been loved and valued, rather than abused and insulted. With these words, she eventually gains the support of those who had earlier disrespected her. Her friends finally accepted her the way they did before and she was having a back to normal life. At the same time she manages to change Rahul's views as well and he decides to marry her. in a fit of a moment, Ajay and Rahul both propose her. Priya, who had already started feeling for Ajay selects him over Rahul stating a spineless guy like Rahul can never be a reliable husband.

Professional photographers Vinod Chopra(Naseeruddin Shah) and Sudhir Mishra (Ravi Baswani) open a photo studio in the prestigious Haji Ali area in Mumbai, and hope to make enough money to keep it running. After a disastrous start, they are given some work by the editor of "Khabardar", a publication that exposes the scandalous lives of the rich and the famous. Baba and Avinash are brothers who lives in a shanty house with their widowed mother, who makes a living as a housemaid. When a stalker attempts to rape their mother, Baba knives him to death, and the three, along with an orphan named Nawab, take shelter with an underworld don named Uncle. Baba would like Avinash to study and become a better person, and in order to do this he decides to make crime his career. When Avinash completes his studies and wants to enroll himself in the police academy, Baba helps him monetarily by accepting his first contract killing. Avinash does complete his training at the police academy and soon becomes a police inspector. One of his first assignments is to be apprehend and arrest Baba and Nawab - much to his shock, as he had never associated his very own brother of having any criminal background. Avinash must now decide to proceed on with apprehending Baba and Nawab, or quit from the police force.
