Benidorm, 1960s. Manolo, a gas station employee, is fired from his job by his excessive fondness for singing. He meets an old friend, Jaime, who lives like a Prince and always accompanied by the tourists more beautiful who spend the summer in those beaches, and tells Manolo trick he uses to conquer them. Le contrat d'un client américain pour la publicité de la machine à laver « Floc » fait l'objet d'une vive compétition entre deux sociétés, représentées par Jean-François pour l'une et par Catherine pour l'autre. Ils recherchent, au Portugal, la jolie lavandière susceptible de venir à Paris pour contribuer au lancement de l'appareil ménager. Une course de vitesse s'engage donc entre les deux équipes qui s'emploient à éliminer la concurrence. Si Catherine réussit à trouver la lavandière, Mariana, c'est néanmoins Jean-François qui parvient à décider la jeune fille à le suivre à Paris en lui promettant de l'épouser.

Madame Vargas a décidé que sa fille Alma épouserait le duc Pablo Dominguez, certes, un bon parti, mais fort peu au goût de la jeune demoiselle. Sachant toute discussion inutile, cette dernière prend le parti de s'enfuir plutôt que de consentir à une union qui lui répugne. Un brave routier la conduit dans le Midi de la France, où elle prend la mer pour les Baléares. Sur le bateau, elle rencontre deux sympathiques passagers clandestins, Miguel et Pierrot. Désargentée, Alma trouve un emploi dans une auberge désertée par les clients. Miguel et Pierrot réussissent à se faire engager pour animer la salle de leurs chansons et ils attirent bientôt une clientèle nombreuse, surtout féminine.
