Fumiko Hayashi (Hideko Takamine) is a young woman can't find a decent job, meanwhile being dumped by her boyfriend and writing on the side. Kin, the first of the geisha, is consumed by the idea of wealth. As a moneylender, she is an embittered businesswoman who is insistent upon being repaid by her former geisha sisters, Tamae and Tomi. À la suite du décès accidentel de son époux, Kuniko Bannai doit élever seule son fils, Takeshi, un garçon de six ans fort dissipé.
