Synopsis
Four friends, Gangu (Jackie Shroff), Abdul (Nana Patekar), Nihal (Kumar Gaurav) and Gary (Jaaved Jaffrey)- which forms the word G.A.N.G, get together to start their business, but their roots are built on friendship and trust. They succeed in their criminal goals, although Gangu is arrested and sentenced to jail for five years. Before going to jail, he asks them to promise to go straight, to which they all agree.Actors

The story revolves around two brothers, Kishen (Jackie Shroff) and Karan (Anil Kapoor), who have spent their childhood growing up alone on the streets of Mumbai. In order for Karan to have a better upbringing and education, Kishen joins Anna Seth (Nana Patekar). Anna owns an oil factory, but that's a mere prop to cover up his dealings within the underworld. Karan is unaware of the fact that his brother is working for a gang. Inspector Prakash (Anupam Kher), Karan's best friend, is aware of Anna's gang activities and wants to bring him to justice. Anna knows that Karan and Prakash are best friends, so he sets up the murder of Prakash when Prakash and Karan are supposed to meet after Karan's arrival from America. Karan witnesses the murder of his friend Prakash, who dies in his arms.

The story starts with the death of an army officer (Shroff) occurs and it is believed to be the act of a terrorist group headed by Changezi (Rishi). Colonel Balbir Singh Sodhi (Bachchan) is asked to investigate this matter and he ends up discovering that minister Veerbhadra Singh(Danny Denzongpa) is involved in this conspiracy. Three men are on death row. Jaggu (Jackie Shroff), a lawyer and a poet, is serving a sentence for murdering his wife because she was cheating on him with another man. Nagya (Nagesh Kukunoor), a man angry with the whole world, is arrested for murdering his wife too, but he claims that it was an accident where she falls off the sidewalk while they were in the middle of a heated argument. Ishaan (Naseeruddin Shah), a happy-go-lucky man, is also arrested for murder that he commits while in the act of robbery. The prison's custodian is Mohan (Gulshan Grover), who attempts several methods to reform the prison's inmates. A documentary filmmaker, Chandrika (Juhi Chawla) comes to the jail to set a film about these three men. In the process, she finds redemption to her troubled marriage.

Anirudh (Nana Patekar) is released from a facility treating patients with mental ailments. Anirudh also happens to be an exceptional artist and does portraits of new people he meets.
