The film tells the love story of an obese youth named Luke John Prakash. Luke comes from a wealthy family. He is in love with a girl named Ann Mary Thadikkaran, his childhood friend whose parents are working in an insurance company. One day, Ann Mary's parents get a transfer to Ernakulam and she along with her parents shift to Ernakulam. Many years later, Ann Mary comes back to meet Luke in his house. One day, Ann Mary takes Luke to a restaurant. He falls and breaks the chair. Realizing she is not so fond of his fatness, Luke embarks on an Ayurvedic treatment run by Rahul Vaidyar to lose weight. One day, Luke escapes from the Ashram to meet Ann Mary on a Christmas Eve. There he is shocked to realize that Ann Mary is the agent of the Ashram and she does not love him anymore. Luke joins his father's political party Prakasham Parakkatte and finally becomes a mayor of his place. Ann Mary's father comes to meet Luke in the Mayor's office. He is shocked to realize that Rahul Vaidyar is a corrupt person and he is making money by decreasing the self-esteem of many people through advertisements and posters. Luke beats Rahul badly and warns him to stop his business. The story comes back to the present as Luke is waiting for Ann Mary in the beach. Ann Mary says sorry to Luke and proposes to him. But to everyone's surprise Luke rejects her proposal telling her that he is not her dream boy.

Kalidasan (Lal) works in the state archaeological department in Thiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum) and is a food lover. His only companion is his cook, Babu (Baburaj). Manu Raghav (Asif Ali) is Kalidasan's nephew who comes to stay with him, while looking for a job. Kalidasan has a normal life until he gets a mis-dialled phone call from Maya (Shweta Menon), a dubbing artiste living with her friend Meenakshi (Mythili). Maya rings to order a special Dosa (named "Thattil Kutti Dosa" in the film) from a restaurant, but gets Kalidasan instead. Their conversations do not go well at first, but a long-distance romance develops due to their common interest—cooking and food. Kalidasan is a born gourmet while Maya is indulging in culinary activities in memory of her dead mother. A gang led by Aliyar (Thilakan) holds a grudge against Police Officer Haridas (Vishnuvardhan) who was responsible for the death of Antony's (Mammootty) wife and daughter as well as Aliyar's Wife and two daughters 12 years ago and sent Antony to jail. When Antony is finally freed, he reunites with his old gang and they plan to kill Haridas. Antony then discovers that his daughter who he thought had died is actually still alive and was raised by Haridas as one of his daughters. Antony meets his long-lost daughter but Aliyar and gang are not ready to leave Haridas. Antony pleads to the gang to leave Haridas alone but fails to stop them. During the struggle, Antony gets shot by Aliyar and in his defence kills Aliyar.

Having killed a man while driving drunk, Raveendran is imprisoned and learns from his cellmate, Krishnan, that he is the son of Sankara Narayanan Thampi, a member of the Thampi family, and rightful heir to the family fortune. His adoptive mother, Subhadramma Thankachi, wrecks the Thampi family by exchanging Raveendran with her own son, Sukumaran, so that he could claim the family fortune. Raveendran gets revenge against his adopted mother, with the help of his new girlfriend, Sridevi. He plans to destroy her. Sukumaran returns as the teenage son of a rich man and heir to the wealth. Subhadramma realises her mistakes and tries to win Raveendran's forgiveness, but she is kidnapped by Rajendran and his gang. Raveendran and Sukumaran fight her enemies. Subhadramma dies trying to save her son's life, and is forgiven by Raveendran and Sukumaran for what she did.
