Synopsis
Ranjit Rai (Sadashiv Amrapurkar) and Harbanslal (Dalip Tahil) are two wealthy business magnates who despise the poor. Thus, they decide their children, Ajay (Ajay Devgan) and Madhu (Juhi Chawla), will marry wealthy spouses. They try to break their children's friendship with Raja (Aamir Khan) and Kajal (Kajol), who are both poor. They fix up Ajay's marriage with Madhu and send Ajay to meet Madhu. As fate would have it, Ajay falls in love with Kajal instead and Raja and Madhu fall in love. This angers the two men, and they try to bribe Raja and Kajal into leaving Madhu and Ajay. When this doesn't work, they try to get Raja and Kajal killed. When the children realize what their fathers really did, they refuse to back down, their determination set in stone.Actors

Rahul Malhotra (Aamir Khan) is the caretaker of a garment company that has a pending order of two lakh shirts to Mr Bijlani. Zooni Ali Beg (Kajol) is a blind Kashmiri girl who travels without her parents for the first time with a dance to Delhi to perform in a ceremony for Republic Day. On her journey, she meets Rehan Qadri (Aamir Khan), a Casanova tour guide who flirts with her. Although her friends warn Zooni about him, she cannot resist falling in love. Deva (Ajay Devgan) est orphelin : son père, qui maltraitait sa mère, a été tué par son épouse. Celle-ci, jugée et condamnée, n’a pu supporter d’être séparée de son enfant et est décédée d’une crise cardiaque. L’officier de police Siddhant (Vinod Khanna) et son épouse Pushpa (Navni Parihar) ont alors adopté Deva et l’ont élevé aux côtés de leur propre fils Karan (Ronit Roy) qui déteste Deva. Contrairement à Siddhant, Deva désapprouve les lois et la justice qui lui ont arraché sa mère. Adultes, les deux frères prennent des chemins opposés : Karan fréquente des jeunes bandits tandis que Deva vit une douce romance avec Sharmili (Kajol). Un jour, Niranyan (Arif Khan), un des amis de Karan et fils du puissant gangster Shobhraj (Amrish Puri) est inculpé pour viol et meurtre. Shobhraj use de toute son influence auprès du politicien Om Gautam (Alok Nath) mais Siddhant refuse de libérer Nirayan. Un bras de fer entre Shobhraj et Siddhant commence. Bientôt, Siddhant surprend Karan, pistolet en main, aux côtés d’une jeune fille étendue morte. Sûr de la culpabilité de son fils, Siddhant le fait mettre en prison. Mais Deva, convaincu de l’innocence de son frère va tout faire pour le sauver.
