Suraj and Deepak live a poor lifestyle in a village along with their widowed father, who has always taught them to be honest. In bad fortune, while saving his employer Kasturi Prasad's (Dalip Tahil) life, Suryanath (Bharat Bhushan) loses his legs. In appreciation, Kasturi allows Chandra Mohan (Harish Kumar), Suryanath's son, to work in his home. Kasturi's daughter Neelima (Karisma Kapoor) initially makes fun of teases Chandra but soon falls in love with him. Kasturi is against this affair and sends henchmen to attack Chandra, which results in their murdering Suryanath during the meelee. Young Chandra is convicted of the crime and is sent to a youth detention center as a punishment. Orphaned when his mother dies of hunger, Babu (Akshay Kumar) is corrupted by Sultan, an ambitious criminal mastermind. He grows up to become "Badshah", a professional criminal working for Sultan. The story starts with Badshah and Abdul robbing a jewellery store and being chased by the police but the police lose track of them. The next day Badshah sees Sapna (Karishma Kapoor) singing and dancing for money. Badshah notices her ripped clothes and gives her money for new clothes and she says that he was the first person to realise that. Inspector Pradhan comes to Badshah and tells him that he knows that Badshah committed the robbery from the previous night. When Badshah and Abdul go to exchange weapons for money with other gangs, the police interrupts. Immediately, Badshah and Abdul run away and a car chase ensues between Inspector Pradhan, and Baadshah and Abdul. In the process, Badshah is shot in the arm and both their vehicles end up falling off a cliff and crashing to the ground. With Inspector Pradhan trapped in his vehicle, which is near exploding, Badshah helps Pradhan get out but Pradhan, whom is resolved to his duty, in his injured state tries to put him under arrest. Badshah knocks Pradhan out but the car explodes injuring Badshah.

Rajiv (Rishi Kapoor) comes from a wealthy land-owning family, and lives in a palatial home with his mother, who would like him to get married to a beautiful young woman named Vijaya Singh, the only daughter of Thakur Ajay Singh (Prem Chopra). Rajiv, however, is in love with Rajni (Sridevi), who is an orphan without connections. When Rajiv informs his mother of his intent to marry Rajni, she refuses to give her blessings, but relents after a favourable meeting with Rajni. To remove her from the household, Bhairo and his disciples do a snake dance song, forcing Rajni to dance for them as she is a naga. However, when Rajiv comes into the house, Rajni escapes, only to be caught by Bhairo again, who reveals his plot, to control the world with the Mani, a sacred jewel that only Rajni knows is hidden. Shekhar (Sanjay Kapoor) and Nandini (Karisma Kapoor) are friends living in Canada with their two uncles. Shekhar proposes to Nandini and she says yes and now they have a young son named Raja. Shekhar hears breaking news of violence in India, the family journeys to his ancestral house in rural North-East State of India and Nandini is shocked to see that Shekhar's family is embroiled in feudal gang wars. Shekhar's father is Narasimha (Nana Patekar). Shekhar tries to bring peace between the warring gangs, but is attacked by the rival gang & killed on way to a re-conciliatory meeting that he wanted to attend on his father's behalf. Nandini feels insecure and decides to leave India with her son but Narasimha imprisons them. Desperate to escape, she goes on a difficult journey to return to Canada with the help of Shekhar's mother and sister. Wanted by Narasimha, Nandini seeks help from drifter Jai Singh (Shahrukh Khan) who after hesitation, helps her and her son board a train to Jaipur. In order to protect Nandini and her son, Jai fights with the goon and dies after killing the goons. Meanwhile, Shekhar's mother begs his father to let Nandini and her son go. However, Narasimha goes but at the airport, he gets emotional and after kissing his grandson, allows them to go. The films ends with Nandini along with her son boarding a plane to Canada.

Jailed as a juvenile for killing his abusive father (Sudhir Kumar) who is responsible for his mother's suicide, Prithvi (Salman Khan) is unable to stand any atrocity. The story is about a poor lad named Ali Baba (Dharmendra) who lives in the town of Gulabad, somewhere in central Asia, with his mother and elder brother Qasim who owns a small petty shop. Ali Baba's father Yousuf is a merchant in a faraway land who has never returned since he last left when Ali Baba was born. So poor Ali Baba makes a living out of selling timber cut from the hills. Gulabad is terrorized by a band of 40 dacoits. They hide their loot in a magical cave in the deserted hills. When the bandit leader recites the magical spell it opens and when he says another spell it closes. When news reaches them that his father has gone missing, Ali Baba goes in his search and not only finds his father, but also rescues princess Marjeena (Hema Malini) from the guards of the king who murdered her father to become king. Both Marjeena and Ali Baba fall in love with each other. Then they are attacked, Marjeena is taken captive, and his father is killed. After burying his father, Ali Baba finds out that Marjeena is being sold in the slave market, he borrows money from Qasim, and uses that to pay for Marjeena, and brings her home. Qasim wants to recover his money, and as a result decides to evict Ali Baba from their family home. Ali Baba and his mother leave the home. It is then the Khazi of the region announces a reward for the capture of notorious bandit Abu Hassan. A young girl named Fatima (Zeenat Aman) whose father has been murdered by the dacoits has a score to settle with Abu Hassan (Rolan Bykov). Fatima pledges her support to Ali Baba in killing Abu Hassan. Shortly, thereafter Ali Baba comes to know the secret hideout of Abu Hassan and its magic spells to open it. He also gets some gold and jewelry from there, which he distributes amongst villagers for diverting some water to their parched land. Ali Baba’s greedy brother Qasim lures Ali Baba into telling him where the cave is and those magic spells. Out of greed Qasim takes so much gold jewelry and coin as a result of which he forgets the spell to reopen the door and gets stuck inside. When the dacoits find him they kill him. Ali Baba then informs the Khazi about Abu Hassan's hideout. What Ali Baba does not know is that the Khazi and Abu Hassan is the same person, and that the Khazi has given instructions to his men to ensure that Ali Baba is killed, so that no one can get their hands on his treasure. Abu Hassan hides the 40 thieves in large urns to kill Ali Baba. Ali Baba comes to know of this and kills them all with the help of Fatima. He brings to light the startling truth that their own ruler heads the dacoits.
