Kotigobba (Kannada: ಕೋಟಿಗೊಬ್ಬ) is a 2001 Indian Kannada language action-drama film starring Vishnuvardhan, Priyanka Upendra and Ashish Vidyarthi in the lead roles. The film, a remake of Tamil blockbuster film Baashha (1995), directed by Naganna and features soundtrack from Deva who also composed for the Tamil version.

Released on 16 November 2001, the film met with very good reviews and was declared as one of the biggest blockbusters completing a successful 125 days at the box office and the success function was held at Chowdaiah Memorial Hall in Bengaluru on Saturday, 16 March 2002. In 2012, director Suresh Krissna who made the original version announced that he would be making a sequel to this film in Kannada language. Vishnuvardhan nominated for Filmfare Best Actor category. As of 2015, the film is preparing a sequel, Kotigobba-2, starring Sudeep and directed by K. S. Ravikumar.

Master Jagannath (Vishnuvardhan) is a disciplined school teacher happily married to Sneha (Suhasini). They both have a girl child named Meghana. Jagannath becomes the most favorite teacher among all the students for his unconditional love towards them. He is a close relative of the Home Minister (Avinash). His daughter is very close friends with Minister's daughter Aditi. Meanwhile, an underworld don Appu (Mukesh Rishi) is under the captivity of the Government and his aids are in a rage to get him released. They hatch a plan to kidnap Minister's daughter Aditi and demand for the release of Appu. By mistake, they kidnap Jagannath's daughter Meghana and demand for the release of Appu in exchange of Megahana. The emotional trauma undergone by the Jagannath's family and the Minister's efforts in releasing the child from the captivity forms the rest of the story.

The film opens to Akshay (Shankar Nag), having esaped from jail, being chased by the police when accidentally runs into the house of Sudha (Vanitha Vasu), a high school classmate of his. He hides in a closet when Inspector Kaury (Avinash) knocks the door. As he hides, he finds the corpse of her husband, Rithwik Kumar (Devaraj) dumped there. The officer breaks the news to Sudha that the plane by which her husband Kumar travelled to Calcutta crashed, killing all the passengers. She appears shocked and breaks down in front of the officer. After he leaves, she reveals to Akshay that she killed her husband and confides in him. He joins her in disposing the corpse in an abandoned well by her estate.
