Triad leaders White Tiger (Chan Yuen) and Green Dragon (Michael Chan) become enemies while fighting for the objection of Yuk-fung (Yip San). Tiger abducts the child Prince and fabricates a story of how his mother was abducted by Dragon. Since then, prince was determined to study martial arts in order to kill Dragon and rescue his mother. Prince was trained by Tiger to be a killer, and killing Dragon have become Prince's goal. One day, when Prince (Jacky Cheung) had the chance to kill Dragon, he sees his dream lover, Tweedy (Rosamund Kwan), and as a result, fails to kill Dragon, breaking his reputation of never making mistakes on missions. Prince's assistant, Ching-ching (Carina Lau), whom is deeply in love with him, arranges Tweedy to seemingly disappear for a while for the sake of him. However, Prince mistakenly believes that Ching-ching betrayed him and killed Tweedy and begins to drink heavily. Because he thinks Tweedy is dead, Prince feels hopeless. Later, Tiger calls Dragon out to meet with him, telling him that Prince is actually Dragon's son, a fact that Prince did not expect. When Tiger and Dragon were arguing who is truly Prince's father, Tiger points his gun at Prince and blames Prince for his resentments. During a battle, Ching-ching gets shot and killed by Tiger in order to protect Prince. Afterwards, Prince sadly carries Ching-ching away, reminiscing a time when Ching-ching asked him whether he will cry when she dies. Later, Tweedy also tells Prince that Ching-ching entrusted her to not meet with him until he kills Dragon. Prince did not say a word, and silently watches the distant sunset with Tweedy.

Princess Pearl of Flowerland is sent to Midland at a young age to learn her ceremonials duties. Her mother, the Queen Mother misses her daughter very much that the King orders his sister, the princess, to return home. However, the princess has fallen in love with General Wing of the Midland army and is reluctant to part from him. As their boat approaches the Flowerland border, Pearl and Wing save the life of a girl named Ying, who threw herself into the sea in order to escape an arranged marriage. As the boat arrives on shore, General Wing and his troops along with Pearl continue on their journey, leaving the still unconscious Ying on the boat. Une série d’attentats à la bombe se produit à Hong Kong, suscitant la peur parmi la population. L'ancien agent de déminage Poon Sing-fung (Andy Lau), tombé dans le coma à la suite d'une explosion, devient le principal suspect en raison de ses liens avec l'organisation criminelle Resurrection. Après son réveil, Poon est interrogé et emprisonné. Il s'évade pour découvrir la vérité et prouver son innocence. Sur sa route de fugitif, il demande l'aide à son ancien camarade d'armes, également démineur, Tung Cheuk-man (Lau Ching-wan). Cependant, les deux se querellent car Tung doit choisir entre la justice et l'amitié. Il décide de choisir cette-dernière et aide son ami. Au même moment, l'ex-petite amie de Poon, Pong Ling (Ni Ni), qui est maintenant inspectrice en chef de l'Unité de lutte contre le terrorisme, cherche désespérément à découvrir le coupable de la série d'explosions et persuade Poon d'entrer en contact avec le groupe Resurrection pour découvrir sa prochaine cible et prouver son innocence. Poon réalise qu'il est tout aussi difficile de dévoiler la vérité que de se débarrasser d'explosifs.
