Muddula Mavayya is a 1989 Telugu, drama film produced by S. Gopal Reddy on Bhargav Art Productions banner, directed by Kodi Ramakrishna. Starring Nandamuri Balakrishna, Vijayashanti in the lead roles and music composed by K. V. Mahadevan. The film recorded as Industry Hit at box office. The film was a remake of Tamil film En Thangachi Padichava. It was remade in Hindi as Aaj Ka Arjun starring Amitabh Bachchan, in Kannada as Ravimama starring V. Ravichandran.
Synopsis
Ranga Rao (Raja Krishnamoorthy), a rich landlord in a village, spreads terror among the villagers and threatens them to give their lands to build a liquor factory. An honest police officer (Ahuti Prasad) is transferred to the village and wants to reason behind villagers cowardliness and he wants to trap Ranga Rao at any cost. After spending five years in jail for a murder, Raja (Nandamuri Balakrishna) is back to his village. Raja always gives a tough fight to Ranga Rao and Inspector asks him what is the reason behind his enmity against Ranga Rao.Actors

Vedam Venkata Ashok (Nandamuri Balakrishna) belongs to an orthodox traditional bramin works as a priest in a temple. Urmila (Bhanupriya) and Ashok are in love. But Urmila's father Shanmukha Sastry (Gollapudi Maruti Rao) has betrayed Ashok's father Vedam (J. V. Somayajulu) and is trying to adopt their whole property pushing them down to below poverty line. Adiseshayya (Narra Venkateswara Rao) and Shanmukha Sastry had planned together and have declared Ashok as a thief and had sent him to jail. After returning from jail, Ashok's father had restricted him to enter into the house. Ashok has now decided to go to any safe place and earn a lot of money due to which he can again be held up his family's pride. In this situation, he comes across Karim Saheeb (Satyanarayana) in Bombay and gets involved in illegal and corrupt activities in the city. By doing all this Ashok turns as Ashoka Chakravarthy and earns lots of money but will he be able to regain his parents confidence and their love, for whom he had jumped into such a trouble.

The story starts with a conflict between two villages Ramapuram and Raghavapuram for Lord Rama statues. In that conflict, Raja's father who is the president of Ramapuram has been killed by Govindaiah brother-Subbaramaiah. Taking into that mind Raja's elder brother Rangayya kills Subbaramaiah and is sentenced to jail. After few years, Raja falls in love with one of his colleague in college without knowing that she is Subbaramayya's daughter, her name is Vara Laxmi. But their love was not accepted neither by Laxmi's brother Hari nor by Govindayya. The rest of the film is all about how Raja struggles to marry Lakshmi with creating relationship between both the families.

Veeranna (Balakrishna) is grandson of Mangamma (Bhanumathi). Anitha is her daughter and Gokina Rama Rao son-in-law. Malli (Suhasini) is their daughter and grand daughter of Mangamma. Rama Rao commits suicide. They attacked Balakrishna. He killed them and runs away from the village. Everyone thinks he is dead. Finally he returns from Military service with a girl he would like to marry. The reasons behind the twist is rest of the story.
