Naalaiya Theerpu (Tomorrow's Verdict) is a Tamil film directed by S. A. Chandrasekhar and produced and written by his wife Shoba Chandrasekhar which marked the debut of the their son Vijay in the lead role alongside Keerthana and Easwari Rao. The film which also featured Srividya, Radharavi and Sarath Babu, had music composed by newcomer Manimekalai, cinematography by R. P. Imayavaramban and editing by Gautham Raju. The film released to mixed reviews on 4 December 1992.

The film deals with student strength. Sivaraj (Vijay), a college student is leading a happy go lucky life, having a nice time with his friends, until two of his friends fall in love. Facing stiff opposition from the girl’s father, all the friends get together and get the couple married. But the married girl was gang raped in the college campus, by Madhan, the son of a politician. Unable to get justice in court, Siva along with his friends takes it upon himself to avenge his friend’s death, but pays a very heavy price. His mother will be killed by the politician and they lose at court. Now Shiva must get justice in his own way. He can kill Madhan and his father.

Vijay (Vijay) is a rich young business man, whose only one aim in life is to have fun, is the managing director of a big tea estate in Ooty and his company goes on a big loss because of his mismanagement. Vijay spends most of his time in partying and flirting with girls whenever he feels like. To manage the loss to his company, Vijay invites his father Rajasekar (who is in the United States) to come to India to sign some documents. As fate would have it, Vijay's father dies in a plane crash on his way to India. His maternal uncle (Manivannan) comes up with the idea of having another elderly person to act as Vijay's father for a while until the documents are signed. So they visit a senior home, where they meet Selvam (Sivaji Ganesan) and they request him to act as Vijay's father. He agrees to it and starts to act as Vijay's father.

Vijay (Rajinikanth) is a Tamil professor living with his widowed mother and his sister. He is in love with Uma (Ambika), a lawyer. During a visit to his friend Ravi's (Nizhalgal Ravi) house, he is disgusted by goings-on in his neighborhood. Illicit liquor is being sold at a tea-stall while prostitution is flourishing in another house in the same colony. But his complaints to the police, yield nothing since the policeman is on the villains' payroll and manages to warn them before making a raid. When Ravi's sister is raped and killed and the perpetrator Mohanraj (Sathyaraj) gets off scot-freewith help from a minister, Vijay and Ravi take matters into their own hands and clean up the tea-stall and brothel on their own. Wanting to teach Vijay a lesson, Mohanraj and his goondas rape his sister (who then commits suicide) and kill his mother. Vijay then turns into a vigilante, walking the streets at nights and dealing out his own brand of justice - shoot first and ask questions later - to the rowdies and goondas. He soon becomes known as Robinhood, helper of the poor and the police sends Singaaram (Bhagyaraj) to unmask Robinhood.
