Synopsis
Sukanta meets kakali in a library reading room and discovers his passion for her though lrejected initially by Kakali. Prantas wife i.e the sister in law of Sukanta has susected the truth yet she does not dare to encourage the affair since Sukanta is not established. Again on another day both Kakali and Sukanta become stranded in a lift of the library for long hours for the want of power. Here they come closer to each other now they start meeting frequently here and there. Once they enjoy a picnic together along with the friends of sukanta .One day sukanta comes to the house of kakali but her parents do not approve of her. After a long interval Sukanta meets Baren his school friend who is now very well off. Baren works in a European firm in a high post He has his own four wheeler and a handsome flat where he stays with his widowed mother. When Sukanta visits her Baren's mother expresses her wish to give her son a pleasant bride. Kakali one day comes to the house of sukanta. Her maiden appearance moved every single member of Sukantas family. In fact mother Sukanta want them to marry. The parents of Kakali refuse. So kakali left the house and property of her father . Kakali joins Baren as a receptionist. And trouble starts in Sukanta's family. Sukanta the research scolar misjudges the relation of Kakali and Baren .Kakali leaves one day after a heated exchange and takes. The nephew of Sukanta who loves his aunt misses her .He goes missing. . In the meantime Baren comes to everything from Kakali and he takes the initiative to solve. Ultimately Kakali comes to the police station where a happy reunion takes place.Actors

Un ennemi du peuple est une adaptation de la pièce d'Ibsen du même nom. Le docteur Ashoke Gupta (Soumitra Chatterjee) s’aperçoit que les cas de jaunisse sont en augmentation dans sa ville de Chandipur. Il fait faire des analyses, qui montrent que la maladie se répand par l’eau bénite distribuée dans le temple de la ville. Or le temple fait venir de nombreux pèlerins à Chandipur et est au cœur de l’économie de la ville. Le fondateur du temple ne veut pas admettre que de l’eau sacrée puisse contenir des bactéries dangereuses. Lorsque le docteur Gupta décide de publier ses découvertes dans le journal local, le maire de la ville, qui n’est autre que son propre frère, s'y oppose puis cherche à le discréditer en mettant en avant le fait qu’il n’est pas un hindou pratiquant.

The film features the characters from Satyajit Ray's Aranyer Din Ratri, returning to the forest over thirty years later. Ashim, Sanjoy, Harinath and Aparna have grown old in this film; Shekhar has died. They set out on a journey to break off every link with civilisation for a few days. It is the story of a music lover named Kishore (Prosenjit Chatterjee), he belonged to a poor family. The story is as Ranjan went to jail against a false allegation. His father became mad and roamed in the streets. His uncle Sanatan made a conspiracy and as a result, all these accidents happened. After sixteen years, he came back and saw the changes. He hid his identity and rescued local villagers from the exploitations of the zamindar. As a result, villagers helped him and saved him from different crisis. In this way within few days, he became very popular among his neighbors. Sanatan came to know about this person from his people, but could not identify him. He put his every effort to trace Ranjan and put him in a false position. Villagers and well-wishers helped him a lot and saved in different occasions. After a lot of incidents, Ranjan punished his uncle Sanatan and reunited with his father.

The story of the movie revolves around a village named Simulpur, which is entirely submerged into superstition and corruption. The village head or Morol Moshai Harimohan babu (Soumitra CHatterjee) is a corrupted, power centric and pervert person. In order to capture the lands of the villagers he implies a different plan, he announces that the family practices witchcraft with the help of a “gunin” and either kills them or force them out of village. The villagers solely believe in witches, ghosts and spirits. In that village lives Babulal (Amitabha Bhattacharya) who loves his wife Parul (Sangeeta) extremely. But Babulal’s mother continuously tortures her as she hasn’t give birth of any child even after 6 years of their marriage. She believes that her daughter-in-law is a witch and takes help of the “gunin”. As Harimohan Babu conspired against Parul to capture her father’s property, he advised “gunin” to announce her as a witch. As the “gunin” does so, to save herself from the rage of the villagers jumps into a river. Dr. Sen (Kunal Mitra) finds Parul lying unconscious and admits her at the Govt. hospital. In this meantime a group of social workers come to the village to free it from superstition. As they continue their work to make the villagers aware of their wrong thinking and superstitious mentality, the doctor informs Parul that its due to her husband’s deficiency she can never become a mother. So desperate Parul decides to become a mother of the baby of doctor instead of Babulal. As Parul become pregnant the villagers realize that she was never a witch and that “gunin” had told them all rubbish. In this meantime being trapped by a social worker Ishani (Shrila Majumdar) accepts that it all was a plan of Harimohan babu. So, ultimately police arrest old Harimohan Babu and on the other hand Parul gives birth to a baby boy. After showing the villagers a new ray of hope the social worker go back to Kolkata and the movie reaches its happy ending.
