Synopsis
Ajith is Red (it stands for Revolution, Education, Development), an orphan who has since grown up to be the local don in Madurai. Naturally he possesses a heart of gold and when not bashing up bad guys, he spends his time forcing schools to accept students without donations and taking care of orphans. Cheeni (Salim Ghouse) is his biggest enemy. Red falls for Gayatri (Priya Gill), the daughter of his friend and confidante Narayanan (Manivannan) and helps her without her knowledge. She too likes him but wants him to give up his life of violence. Meanwhile, a reporter (Rajesh) for Ananda Vikatan begins to serialise Red's story under the name Aadi and it becomes quite the rage among readers.Actors

Sridhar (Ajith Kumar) has been trying to become a music director for eight years. Professor Ilango comes to his native village near Theni, with his college going daughter, Charulatha (Mamta Mohandas). He has taken voluntary retirement from his college service and has come to live in his ancestral house. He plans to do research on folk songs and release a collection as a book. A district collector, a judge, and a police official are all kidnapped in broad daylight. The kidnapper cocking-a-snook at the establishment, calling himself 'Citizen' and appearing in different disguises to get at his targets. C.B.I. officer Sarojini (Nagma) finally traces the common factor among the kidnapped trio to the fictional hamlet of Athippatti, consisting of fishermen. But to her surprise both the village and its 690 odd inhabitants seemed to have been wiped away from the face of the official gazette maps. The diggings tell a story of a mass massacre that must have taken place about a couple of decades back. 'Citizen' is finally apprehended. He comes out with his story of the gory happenings at Athippatti and how he, as a little boy, had been the sole survivor of the nightmare that gripped the village that day from the map of India, twenty years back. The entire village was wiped off including women and children by the three kidnapped officials because of their greed for power and money. Ajith wants the citizenship of the three government officials revoked including their families as a punishment for their atrocities to the inhabitants of Athippatti.

Thiruppaachi and Sengulam are neighboring villages with a history of enmity between them. Maayan (Manoj) and Machakanni (Riya Sen) meet on the day of her engagement and its love at first sight. Shankar (Chiranjeevi) and Revathi are siblings and are orphans. To feed his hungry sister Shankar steals a bread from a nearby tea stall, at the same there is another orphan (Kalyan Chakravarthy) boy who is also hungry looking at them, Shankar gives him a piece of bread. Shankar takes up the responsibility of raising his younger sister and also the orphan. Shankar does everything possible to earn bread and butter for them, and slowly he transforms from a small time thief to a small time gang leader. During this time he helps a village near by, who treats him like god. Once he bashes up Dada's (Kaikala Satyanarayana) men, an impressed Dada offers him to work for him. But Shankar rejects to work for him but when dada offers him partnership then he accepts the proposal. Apart from crime Shankar is also a good dancer and he teaches dancing too, Radha is a big fan of him. She falls in love with him to sing a couple of quick duets. Shankar realizes that Revati is in love with Kalyan Chakravarthy and he does their wedding. Kalyan Chakravarthy becomes a police officer with the help of Shankar, in one of the crimes he gets some info regarding Dada's involvement. Kalyan Chakravarthy asks Shankar's help in eliminating Dada's group without knowing that Shankar is a partner in the same crime syndicate. Then Shankar decides to quit Dada's company and conveys the same to Dada. Dada accepts the proposal but he says that he is not responsible if his brother in law dies in his hands. So Shankar drops the idea of leaving Dada's company, Dada makes him the head of the syndicate. Raghu Varan and Mohan Babu are not happy with this, so they talk another gang to eliminate Shankar and Dada. Mean while Kalyan Chakravarthy and Revathi comes to know that Shankar is criminal, they question him on that front. He tries to explain what scenarios led him to this. But they leave him. Mohan Babu, Raghu Varan and their new gang attacks and kills Dada and villagers whom Shankar helps. Angry Shankar kills all goons and surrenders himself to his brother in law. This film did not do very well but had good collections due to chiranjevi's prowess action and energetic dance , this is the only movie in the combination Chiranjeevi and Dasari. Dances and songs are very good and they are captures very well. Top among them are Jivvumani konda gali and Padaharella vayasu padi padi leche mansu.
