It was made at Shepperton Studios and based on a novel Second Bureau by Charles Robert-Dumas. It was a remake of a 1935 French film of the same name.
The film's title refers to the French military intelligence outfit Deuxième Bureau.
Synopsis
A French spy, Captain Paul Benoit, manages to steal some German secrets. The Germans send Erna Fielder, an agent of their own, after him, but the two spies end up falling in love.Actors

A Russian organized crime group takes possession of an advanced bio-chemical weapon from Korea with the help of a corrupt Korean scientist, and two special agents are the world's only hope to stop them. One is a veteran domestic secret agent named Ahn Soo-ji (Kim Ha-neul) who is a master martial artist and fencer. The other is a rookie international agent named Lee Jae-joon (Kang Ji-hwan) who's foundation in analytical work, rather than field work, gets him into trouble when he consistently goofs up on the job. The two agents have an ill-fated relationship, when coincidentally they are dating and don’t know each other's secret identities. Ironically, the passion between them turns to madness, as the lies and secrets between them build until they nearly kill each other. They only thing they can trust is the fact they love and hate each other. The tension builds as they attempt to work out their relationship, while working behind each other's backs, unknowingly on the same mission to save the world.

Bartholomew "Barley" Scott Blair (Sean Connery), the head of a British publishing firm, is on a business trip to Moscow. He attends a writers' retreat near Peredelkino where he speaks of an inevitable New World Order and an end to tensions with the West. Chinese American CIA operative Jeffrey Cheung Ching (Chow Yun-fat) was ordered to escort a Chinese national treasure to the United States. After a German U-boat drops off Nazi saboteurs, RCMP Corporal Wagner (Flynn) captures the leader, Colonel Hugo von Keller (Helmut Dantine), the only survivor after an avalanche wipes out the rest of the group. In the spring of 1941, American journalist Michael Gordon (George Sanders) and his colleague, William Chalmers (Robert Anderson), arrive in Damascus.
