Synopsis
Arnold Murer revient à Langnach, son village natal, en Suisse, après avoir passé quatorze ans en Amérique. Tout le monde sait qu'il est parti afin de ne pas aller en prison pour une tentative de meurtre qu'il a toujours niée. Murer s'installe loin du village, dans un hébergement délabré dans la carrière et vit comme un ermite. Les gens du village le rejettent et espèrent s'en débarrasser. Seul Nappi, un handicapé mental, et Meidi, une fille de treize ans, viennent le voir et se lient avec lui.Actors

Berlin 1954. Le soir du nouvel an, une jeune femme amnésique cachant une poupée et un passeport d'homme ensanglanté dans son vieux manteau est récupérée par des militaires à un point de contrôle au sortir de la zone britannique. Mise en présence de personnes qu'elle a connus, elle va retrouver la mémoire et une femme, Anna, va révéler son histoire. Pauline, la jeune amnésique, étrangère sans papier, séduite puis abandonnée par son amant allemand, cherche à le retrouver en vain. Elle est enceinte et ne veut plus de ce bébé. Désespérée et sans le sou, elle rencontre Anna, émue, qui, après une nouvelle fausse couche, fait croire à son mari que sa grossesse actuelle se passe bien. Anna lui propose alors de récupérer le bébé et de le faire passer pour le sien. Mais Pauline commence à hésiter.

In 1927, Roxie Hart sees star Velma Kelly perform ("All That Jazz") at a Chicago theater. Wanting stardom for herself, she begins an affair with Fred Casely, who claims to know the manager. After the show, Velma is arrested for killing her husband Charlie and sister Veronica, who were in bed together. A month later, Casely admits to Roxie that he has no showbiz connections and just wanted her body. Enraged, she shoots him dead. She convinces her husband Amos to take the blame, telling him she killed a burglar in self-defense. As Amos confesses to the detective, Roxie fantasizes that she is singing a song devoted to her husband ("Funny Honey"). However, when the detective brings up evidence that Roxie and Casely were having an affair, Amos recants; Roxie furiously admits what really happened and is arrested. Ambitious District Attorney Harrison announces he will seek the death penalty.
