The film was released on 3 December 2010 in its Kannada version; and on 11 March 2011 in its Telugu version This utopian film had a concept of a contrasting futuristic India set in the year 2020, and the contemporary image of India.
With the title of the film depicted only by a symbol, it features Upendra and Nayantara in lead roles and is produced by Rockline Venkatesh, while V. Harikrishna scored the music. Making more than ₹100 million through satellite television and audio rights even before release, in Kannada it grossed a record ₹25 million in first three days of the opening weekend. The film grossed ₹550 million at the box office and was one of the Highest grossing Kannada films of 2010, along with Jackie.

A foreign woman, Marina, wants to distribute the unreleased controversial film A directed by Soorya. However the censor board permits only twenty random minutes to be screened and the climax is censored to such an extent that it no longer made any sense. She suggests its producers to re-shoot the film. However, Soorya is not in a position to participate in the film's shoot as he became a drunkard after actress Chandini, who debuted with his film, rejects his love. Soorya's family is unable to meet their ends after he stops directing films. Lost in her thoughts, he wanders near her house every night drunk, only to be expelled by her henchmen.

Betala begins to narrate one of his puzzling tales to Vikramāditya which is the story of Naanu (translates to I/Me/Myself), an ego-driven selfish rogue and the three women in his life. Naanu since childhood hates hypocrisy and always speaks the truth. In the process, he exposes the truth behind everything. A young woman Rathi comes to know her father's hatred towards her in this process and falls in love with Naanu. However she finds out that Naanu wants to marry a billionaire Keerthi whose deceased father decides that her husband would inherit her entire wealth. The story begins in a rural village in Bihar, with the delivery of a baby girl to a village couple. Her disappointed father, who was hoping for a boy, drowns her in vat of milk in a public ceremony. Many years later somewhere around 2050 A.D., this unchecked trend leads to the village being populated solely by males. The now uncouth and aggressive young men of the village are desperate for wives and release their frustration through group screenings of imported pornographic films, cross-dressed dance performances, and even bestiality. They are shown to be willing to go to the lengths of human trafficking and courtship-driven emigration to procure spouses for themselves.

Set in the future, youth gang violence is so high that the areas around some schools have become "free fire zones", into which not even the Police will venture. When Dr. Miles Langford (Malcolm McDowell), the Principal of Kennedy High School in Seattle, decides to take his school back from the gangs, Megatech robotics specialist Dr. Robert Forrest (Stacy Keach) provides "tactical education units", consisting of Mr. Bryles (Patrick Kilpatrick), Ms. Connors (Pam Grier), and Mr. Hardin (John Ryan) for a new pilot enforcement agency called the Department of Educational Defense (D.E.D.). These humanoids have been programmed to teach and are supplied with weapons to discipline trouble-makers. The androids soon overstep their authority, causing the students to fight back.
