Thangamana Thangachi is a 1991 Tamil drama film directed by Senthilnathan. The film features R. Sarathkumar and Aamani in lead roles. The film had musical score by Sankar Ganesh and was released on 15 January 1991.

Synopsis

Vijay (R. Sarathkumar) and Seetha (Ragapriya) are siblings. After their mother's death, Vijay worked hard to come up in life. He brought up his sister alone. Many years later, Vijay becomes a taxi-driver. His sister Seetha falls in love with the postman Kannan (K. R. Ganesh) while Vijay is in love with his childhood lover Lakshmi (Aamani). Lakshmi is the daughter of the corrupt politician Marappan (Jaiganesh) and her brother (Mansoor Ali Khan) rapes the young girls as he wish. At Seetha's wedding, Lakshmi's brother kidnaps Seetha, then he rapes and kills her. Vijay decides to take revenge.

Solaiyamma (Sukanya) is a mother-less woman who is looked after by her father (Vinu Chakravarthy). She has been promised in marriage with her relative Balraj (Rahul) and they are in love. Vairavan (Karikalan) is a heartless muscular man who spreads terror among the villagers and rapes the village girls. One night, Vairavan enters Solaiyamma's house and tries to rape Solaiyamma but she stands against him and Vairavan runs away. The entire village thinks that she has been raped including her relatives and then her father commits suicide. Thereafter, she is rejected by the village. Captain Prabhakaran (Vijaykanth) is an IFS officer sent to Sathyamangalam to nab Veerabhadran (Mansoor Ali Khan (actor)) who tortures the people of that place. Prabhakaran is not only going to nab Veerabhadran but also avenge the death of his friend Rajaraman IFS (Sarathkumar) who was a forest officer killed by Veerabhadran. The Police commissioner and the state collector are corrupt and also support Veerabhadran. In the climax, Veerabhadran kidnaps Prabhakaran's wife and son. Prabhakaran arrives at the right time and saves his wife and son. He then nabs Veerabhadran. Ramya Krishnan was Sarathkumar's lover. She dies while giving birth to his child. Veerabhadran is shot dead by the corrupt inspector and collector. Prabhakaran kills both of them. He is then dragged to court for killing police inspector and collector. Prabhakaran tells the truth that they were corrupt and the film ends with Prabhakaran being released from the court.

They obtain a favourable decision from the court. Thereafter to take revenge, Muthu's brother-in-law is killed by Rajadurai's henchman. Muthu and Kaveri ultimately get married. Few months later, Kaveri becomes pregnant. Rajadurai desires for revenge and want to destroy Muthu's dynasty. What transpires later forms the crux of the story.
