Palaivana Paravaigal (English: Desert Birds) is a 1990 Tamil crime film directed by Senthilnathan. The film features Sarath Kumar, Anandaraj, newcomer Udhayan and newcomer Dharani in lead roles. The film, produced by K. S. Srinivasan and K. S. Sivaraman, had musical score by newcomer Ilayagangai and was released on 15 September 1990.
Synopsis
Mamu (Sarath Kumar) and Machi (Anandaraj), two orphans and heartless criminals, are sentenced to the death penalty. Raja (Udhayan), their cellmate, is an innocent youth who is in love with Kaveri (Dharani). Mamu and Machi decide to save Raja and they go to his village before their death sentence.Actors

Chinnaiya (Sarath Kumar) is a faithful servant in the house of a rich man (Vijayakumar). The rich man is angry with his elder daughter (Sitara), who yearns to mend their relationship. His second daughter, Prabhavathy (Simran Bagga), who arrives from America, falls in love with Chinnaiya but after gaining his trust, accuses him of attempting to rape her. Turns out that she did this to try to unite her sister's family with her father and send Chinnaiya out since it was Chinnaiya's father who killed her mother. So Chinnaiya is kicked out of the house. Meanwhile Muthaiya (also Sarath Kumar), Chinnaiya's father, is released from jail.

Sivaraman (Nassar), an honest government clerk, and his wife Lakshmi (Raadhika), belong to a middle-class family and they have two children. The film begins with the murder of a politician committed by the terrorist Azhagam Perumal (Anandaraj). The corrupt finance minister Ponnurangam (Goundamani) wants to become the central minister therefore he orders Azhagam Perumal for money to create the chaos in Tamil Nadu. So Azhagam Perumal first sets off a bomb in a head office of Ponnurangam's opposite party. 22 people died during the bomb blast. Consequently, the Central Minister (Raadhika Sarathkumar) charges the Anti Terrorist Squad's Assistant Commissioner Suriya (R. Sarathkumar) to track down the terrorist group. When Manimaran drives his pregnant sister, the antagonist stops him but Manimaran beats the antagonist and his henchmen. Uma comes too late at the hospital and dies with her baby. Vaidehi leaves their house because of her husband's behavior who brings Uma's death. Manimaran changes his behavior and tries to convince Vaidehi to come back home.
