1913 en Toscane - Le maître-maçon Bonnano restaure une église, aidé par ses sept fils dont deux, Nicola et Andrea, qui décident d'aller tenter leur chance aux États-Unis. In 1809, Sir Arthur Wellesley, commander of the British forces in the Iberian Peninsula, prepares to invade French-controlled Spain.
