Synopsis
Lors d'une révolte en Judée, Marie-Madeleine est enlevée par Barrabas. Gaius Marcellus, un centurion, la sauve et ils s'éprennent l'un de l'autre. Mais Marie-Madeleine part pour Jerusalem car elle a peur qu'il découvre qu'elle est courtisane et retrouve alors Anan, son ancien amant. While Hercules (Mickey Hargitay) is away, his village is plundered and his wife is killed by the army of Ecalia as the first part of a scheme by the treacherous Licos (Massimo Serato) to gain the throne of Ecalia for himself. Licos plans that Hercules will come to Ecalia for vengeance and murders the King himself to save Ecalia from his revenge. Hercules learns of the murder of his wife and seeks vengeance, but is thwarted when the King's daughter and heir to the throne Queen Deianira offers herself rather than her realm of Ecalia as the guilty party. In accordance with the law Deianira must face the wrath of Hercules; she is bound to a wall as Hercules throws axes at her that miss Deianira proving her innocence in the eyes of the gods.

Au VI siècle av. J.-C., Rome est assiégée par les Étrusques et leurs alliés, des soldats grecs ainsi que des Gaulois menés par Drusco. Elle décharge les Gaulois de la surveillance des prisonnières et, dès qu'ils sont partis en expédition, elle enivre les Étrusques pour les inciter à abattre les otages. Clélie et ses compagnes réussissent à s'échapper, ce qui met fin à la trêve et déclenche l'attaque des Étrusques. Malgré la ruse de Clélie et de ses guerrières qui empruntent les égouts souterrains pour surprendre l'ennemi par l'arrière, les Étrusques sont vainqueurs. Mais Drusco intervient pour que la paix soit proclamée et demande à Clélie de l'épouser.

The story, drawn from La masseria delle allodole, the best-selling novel by Antonia Arslan, tells about the Avakian clan, an Armenian family living in Turkey and having two houses. The Avakians feel convinced that the rising tide of Turkish hostility on the horizon means little to them and will scarcely affect their day to day. Against the backdrop of the Bourbon Restoration, Lombard aristocrat Fulvio Imbriani, a former political extremist who once served under Napoleon, is finally released from an Austrian jail, after a lengthy sentence for his part in the secret Sublime Brotherhood.
