Synopsis
À Spencer Airlines, le pilote Richard "Van" Vaness essaie d'empêcher son ami Nick Talbot de décoller alors qu'une tempête s'annonce. Lorsque Nick le menace d'informer leur patron Boyd Spencer qu'il souffre parfois d'évanouissements suite à une vieille blessure de guerre, Van renonce, mais il ne peut dormir car il s'inquiète pour son ami. Le lendemain matin, des morceaux de l'avion sont retrouvés sur la plage et Nick est porté disparu. Van rend visite à Spencer et est surpris par le peu de réaction du vieil homme.Actors

Mervyn Speight s'évade de prison où il était incarcéré pour meurtre. Un de ses amis engage Hugo Bishop, un avocat apprenti détective privé, pour le retrouver. Il le trouve en effet sur le lieu du meurtre. Mervyn lui dit alors qu'il espère prouver son innocence car il se souvient avoir vu un visage d'homme avant d'être assommé et arrêté. Depuis son arrestation, la femme de Mervyn, Thelma, un rédactrice dans un magazine, vit avec Victor Tasman et prétend être son épouse. Son rédacteur en chef, Maurice Jerrard, est la seule personne à savoir que son vrai mari était en prison. Bishop finit par croire en l'innocence de Mervyn et invite tous les protagonistes à une soirée. Mervyn reconnaît alors Jerrard comme son agresseur. Jerrard s'enfuit, mais finit par tomber et se tuer près de la scène de crime. Désormais libre, Mervyn voyage à travers l'Europe pour que sa femme puisse continuer à vivre avec Tasman.

The drama begins with a murder and a screaming witness. The witness to the crime tells the police that she can identify the murderer and will never forget his face. Mob attorney Walter Colby (Scott) is called by crime boss Hap Richie (Douglas Kennedy) in the middle of the night to arrange the release of Caesar (Jack Overman), one of his mobsters arrested for the murder. After Colby does so he tells his girlfriend, the unscrupulous mob-connected showgirl Flaxy Martin (Mayo), that he wants to quit the organization and become respectable.

At a secret aviation research station in the English countryside, an international group of scientists are working on the prototype of a revolutionary new aircraft, known as the M7, capable of flying at up to 2,000 miles per hour. The atmosphere is competitive rather than co-operative, with fierce rivalry between the various scientists. The project leader Michael Heathley (Donald) is so wrapped up with the M7 that his wife Lydia (Calvert) feels neglected and that she is being sidelined in favour of her husband's work. At a social gathering she strikes up a conversation with Heathley's colleague Alex Leon (Lom), and the pair are soon circling one another. Meanwhile, Heathley is desperate to test the M7, but is continually stonewalled by facility director Carrington (Maurice Denham).

During a day at an airport in London, many complications arise, involving both passengers and airline crew members. While on a flight from Toronto, Ontario, to Vancouver, British Columbia, the pilots at the controls of a Canadair North Star, a large commercial airliner, fall victim to food poisoning. Approximately half of the passengers have also been incapacitated by eating the same fish served to the pilots. After the stewardess (Corinne Conley) asks for help from the passengers, George Spencer (James Doohan), an ex-Second World War Spitfire fighter pilot is forced to take over. His wife (Kate Reid) is able to help him at the controls, but he is worried about his sick son. A storm over Vancouver makes matters worse, with George not only having to overcome harrowing wartime flashbacks, but also struggling with the controls of an unfamiliar aircraft, in order to bring the airliner down safely.

Taking place in 1910, during a fictional revolution in Honduras, Corbett was hired to ensure that a large sum of money came to the deposed political leader.
