Anil Mohile is a Sound Indian
Anil Mohile (died 1 February 2012) was a famous music composer and music arranger in Bollywood in India. Mohile had arranged music for around 85 Hindi and Marathi movies. He worked with music director Arun Paudwal in Marathi Film industry and was established as well known music director pair as Anil-Arun during that time. He is best remembered for his collaborations with singers Lata Mangeshkar and Pandit Hridaynath Mangeshkar in many of their on-stage performances. Mohile is remembered by the Pune's music fraternity as a disciplined doyen of multiple strands of musical composition.

The movie begins with three friends Sameer (Shreyas Talpade), Ravi (Abhiram Bhadkamkar) and Bharat (Bharat Jadhav) who arrive in a Osadwadi, a small village. They are working in a bank and have been transferred to this village branch. Any new transferees that arrive are routinely made to stay in a wada, till they find alternate arrangements. The wada was incidentally mortgaged to the bank and hence any new transferees that arrive are routinely made to stay in this wada till they can find alternate arrangements. Many transferee's had left the job and left the village due to strange things happening in the wada.

The central figure of the film is represented by a mysterious figure called "Gaja Gamini" (Madhuri Dixit), who inspires, arouses, and confuses the common man. "Gaja Gamini" is the inspiration behind Leonardo da Vinci's (Naseeruddin Shah) 'Mona Lisa', Kalidas' poem "Shakuntala", and a photojournalist named Shahrukh's (Shah Rukh Khan) photographs. The mysterious "Gaja Gamini" appears as four characters, one of them being Sangeeta, a blind girl from Banaras at the beginning of time, who inspires village women (Farida Jalal, Shilpa Shirodkar, and Shabana Aazmi) to revolt against a male-dominated system and carve a niche for women forever. Another character is Shakuntala, who is the subject of Kalidas' poem of the same name. Shakuntala incites jealousy in the women and love in the men around her, charming humans and animals alike in the forests of Kerala. "Gaja Gamini" is also Mona Lisa during the Renaissance, the object of painter Leonardo da Vinci's obsession. Finally, Monika, the most confusing sector of the film, is supposed to represent the woman of the New Millennium. Kamdev, the God of Love (Inder Kumar), walks the earth throughout history, attempting to win the love of "Gaja Gamini".

Lalchand Dogra lives in a palatial house with his wife, Anjana, and three sons, Sunny, Raj, and Jay. Due to circumstances beyond their control, all get separated, with Lalchand himself ending up serving time in prison for several years. Years later, Lalchand is released from jail and sets out to find his family and try to put the rest of his life together. Inspector Suryadev Singh (Amrish Puri) is an honest and efficient cop in the city. He has a granddaughter Kajal (Twinkle Khanna), whom he has brought up after her parents were poisoned by his enemies, and whom he values more than his life. But Suryadev’s cousin Vishambar (Suresh Oberoi) is plotting the complete ruin of Suryadev, along with his wife and his brother in law Bhanwari (Shakti Kapoor) because Vishambar’s deceased father gives all his share of property, including a village Sundernagar, to Suryadev as Vishambar has married someone against his wishes. So Vishambar plans to kill Kajal, as then his revenge will be complete, and the property will fall into his hands since there would be no one to inherit it from Suryadev, which his son Nagendra can inherit. For this purpose, Vishambar hires Karan (Ajay Devgan).

The Film begins with a Car approaching in Night. Tatya Vinchu (Dilip Prabhavalkar) a famous gangster and his henchman kubdya Khavis enters the cave of Baba chamtkar (Raghvendra Kadkol) in search for mrutunjay mantra, a voodoo spell which can transfer the soul of the chanter to any living or nonliving object. Tatya threatens Baba Chamatkar for his mantra. Baba, out of fear, gives it to him. CID Inspector Mahesh Jadhav (Mahesh Kothare), who is trying to arrest Tatya raids his warehouse. Mahesh finds Tatya, and gives chase until Tatya hides in a post office. There, they fight and Tatya gets hit by a fatal gunshot. He uses the mantra to transfer his soul into the body of a ventriloquist's doll lying nearby. Meanwhile Kubdya Khavis is captured and taken into custody. The police believes that Tatya is dead.
