C. H. Narayana Rao (Telugu: సి.హెచ్. నారాయణరావు) (d: 14 February 1984) is famous South Indian actor.

He has been working in Indian Railways in 1939. He was found by Dronamraju Kameswara Rao and introduced him in Jeevana Jyoti in 1940 as hero. He has acted in about 50 films as hero, supporting actor and villain. His films include Mana Desam, Mugguru Marathilu, Lakshmamma, Veelunama, Rahasyam etc. The entry of Narayana Rao made Chittor V. Nagaiah shift to more character roles. He prevailed as the prime hero even after Akkineni Nageswara Rao and N. T. Rama Rao entered into Telugu film Industry. He has acted opposite C. Krishna Veni in Jeevana Jyothi, Kamala Kotnis in Chenchu Lakshmi, Bezawada Rajaratnam in Mugguru Maratilu, S. Varalakshmi in Jeevitham.

He has acted in Miss Prema B.A. written by Malladi Krishna Sharma directed by Thimmaraju Siva Rao and gave many performances.

He has produced Manjari in 1953 directed by Y. V. Rao. He has lost heavily and had to face lot of problems subsequently.

Mohini is the daughter of Sivashankaralingeswara Prasad, who marries Durgamma following Mohini's mother's death. Durgamma's brother Murthy wants to marry Mohini. Meanwhile, Mohini falls in love with Ashok, who is none other than her neighbour Pati, but she is not aware of that. When Murthy asks Prasad for Mohini's hand in marriage, he is refused by Mohini. An angry Murthy goes to the village and spends some time with Lakshmi and leaves her. When Lakshmi becomes pregnant, she comes to the city in search of Murthy. Before she can find Murthy, she gives birth to a boy in the hospital. She meets Murthy and requests him to accept her and the child. But Murthy refuses so she leaves the child in Pati's car, and goes to the sea to commit suicide. In the meantime, Murthy plans to cancel Mohini's marriage to Pati by using the child. Due to his claim that the child is Pati's and Lakshmi's, the marriage is cancelled. The rest of the story is about how Pati faces problems from Murthy, and how he reunites with Mohini.

Murthy (Nagaiah) is a publisher happily married to Kalyani (Jayamma) and the proud father of their children. He watches a street play in his village, and notices the beautiful Subbalaxmi (Bhanumathi) in that troupe. He advises Subbalaxmi's father to take her to Madras where she would have the potential to become a big theatre artiste. He even refers them to a theatre company. They travel to Madras. Subbalaxmi is offered the lead role and changes her name to Sujatha. Murthy falls for Sujatha's charms and neglects his family. Kalyani fends for her children by taking up small tailoring works and leading a hard life. At the end, Murthy realizes his mistake and returns to his family.
