Cesare Giulio Viola est un scénariste, écrivain et dramaturge italien né le 26 novembre 1886 à Tarente, dans la région des Pouilles, et mort le 3 octobre 1958 à Positano en Campanie.

Biography

Fils de l'archéologue Luigi Viola , Cesare Giulio Viola a combattu au cours de la Première Guerre mondiale.

Il déménage ensuite à Rome où il est critique de théâtre pour divers journaux. Il se consacre à l'écriture et au théâtre (plus de 30 pièces à son actif). Dans les années 1930, il commence à écrire des scénarios et a un rôle de premier plan dans les syndicats des auteurs et écrivains fascistes. Au cours des années 1940, il collabore notamment avec Vittorio De Sica.

Two friends, Giuseppe Filippucci (Rinaldo Smordoni) and Pasquale Maggi (Franco Interlenghi), test-ride horses. It is their dream to own one for themselves. As the movie begins the viewer is introduced to Pricò, a young Italian boy who lives with his parents in a middle-class household. His mother, Nina, takes him to a local park where he enjoys his time out while watching a puppet show, but is also concerned with a handsome lover named Roberto (with whom Nina has shared a past romance) courting his mother while he is assumed to not be paying attention. As the boy returns home, the family has dinner while Pricò reflects on his day in the park. Later that night, after his mother puts him to bed, she runs off with the stranger, leaving Pricò's father distressed at the idea of having to raise his son himself. While their neighbors share a number of rumors concerning the disappearance of Nina, it is quickly agreed that she ran off with another man. While concerned with her disappearance, Nina quickly returns to the home after a few days for the sake of their son. While the father, Andrea, is not entirely pleased with this arrangement, he relents so that his son may grow up in the same house as his mother.

Luciano Serra, valeureux aviateur lors de la Première Guerre mondiale, se retrouve désormais sans but. Il gagne quelque argent en assurant, à l'aide d'un modeste hydravion, le baptême de l'air de touristes en mal de sensations. En 1921, il s'embarque alors pour l'Amérique du Sud, espérant y faire fortune. Là-bas, des financiers lui proposent d'organiser un raid aérien au-dessus de l'Océan Atlantique de Rio de Janeiro à Rome. Trahi par des commanditaires sans scrupules, Luciano n'abandonne pas l'entreprise mais, il disparaît, à bord de son engin, en 1931. Très attaché à l'histoire de son père, Aldo Serra, entre à l'Académie aéronautique de Caserte et participe dès 1935 à la conquête coloniale en Éthiopie. Luciano Serra est, quant à lui, toujours vivant et se retrouve également en Abyssinie. Lors d'une opération dramatique, il sauve son fils, au mépris du danger, mais doit y laisser sa vie.
