Gali Penchala Narasimha Rao (Telugu: గాలి పెంచల నరసింహారావు) (1903–1964) was the first generation of Music directors in Indian cinema. He is also known as Gali Penchalaiah.

He has debuted with the Telugu version of Seetha Kalyanam in 1934.

Sri Krishna Leelalu (1935) was his another musical hit film. It was starring Saluri Rajeswara Rao as Bala Krishna, who later became the most successful Music directors of South Indian cinema.

Sashirekha Parinayam, also known as Maya Bazaar was his next film. Vivaha Bhojanambu song in 1957 version Mayabazar is originally tuned by him for this 1936 film.

Pendyala Nageswara Rao has worked as Hormonist for Mayalokam in 1945.

His music has contributed to the success of Balaraju (1948). The songs Cheliya Kanarava by Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao and Evarine Nenevarine by S. Varalakshmi are melodies attracted many those days.

His most successful film was also his last film Sri Seetha Rama Kalyanam (1961) by N.A.T. Pictures. The songs tuned for the marriage of Sri Rama and Seetha are very often played during the many Marriages of Telugu people. Seetharamula Kalyanam Chootamu Raarandi song really shows the beauty of lyrics and melodious tune.
He wrote and published two music books viz., "GANAKALA" and "GANAVARIDHI". He also composed 300 Tanavarnas with full notations (swaras) and 1000 keerthanas in telugu. They are in different ragas, different talas and rare ragas also. He created so many new ragas and composed varnams and keerthanas in them. This book namely "THANA VARNA SUDHANIDHI" alias "SANGITHAKALANIDHI" is yet to be published by his son.

Anugu, the King of Palnadu has three sons - Nalagama Raju, Narasinga Raju and Malideva Raju. He anoints Nalagama Raju as the king under the care of his minister Brahmanaidu. A wealthy and powerful woman Nagamma enters the kingdom. Progressive minded Brahmanaidu allows Harijan entry into temples and appoints Kannamadasu, a Harijan as the army commander. This hurts the upper caste people and also the prince Narasinga Raju, who seeks the help of Nagamma. In the King's court, Nagamma accuses Brahmanaidu which leads Malideva demanding a division of the kingdom. Nalagama Raju divides the kingdom and gives Macherla to Malideva Raju, with Brahmanaidu as his adviser. Nalagama holds the Gurajala under the control of Nagamma. She conspires to unite the country and make Narasinga Raju as the king. Malideva is invited for kodi pandelu (cock fight), the loser to leave the kingdom and live in exile for seven years. But after that period, she refuses to hand over the kingdom to Malideva. She has plotted to kill the emissary Alaraju, son-in-law of Nalagama. This results in war and the annihilation of almost the entire clan. In the war field, Nagamma realizes her mistake and seeks pardon from Brahmanaidu.
