Patrice Ledoux est nommé en 1985 directeur général de Gaumont, succédant à ce poste à Daniel Toscan du Plantier. Il exercera cette fonction jusqu'en mars 2004. Sidonie Dumas le remplace à ce poste.Il exerce ponctuellement des activités de producteur délégué et de producteur exécutif.

Jean-Étienne Fougerole est un intellectuel bobo qui sort son nouveau roman intitulé À bras ouverts et qui appelle les personnes les plus aisées à accueillir chez elles les familles dans le besoin. Louise, jeune veuve arboricultrice de la Drôme en difficultés financières, heurte dans un accident de voiture un homme qui marche sur un chemin de terre. Étrange personnage filiforme, dégingandé et rigide dans son immuable costume, au franc-parler et au débit vocal rapide et mécanique, il refuse d'être soigné et ne supporte pas qu'on le touche. Louise découvre peu à peu que Pierre est un autiste Asperger plein de tics et d'angoisses, mais également un redoutable observateur et calculateur prodige qui analyse tout à l'aide de son ordinateur. Pierre s'adapte très vite à Louise et à son environnement, et s'installe chez elle contre son gré. Tout d'abord perplexes, les deux enfants de Louise s'attachent à lui et font tout pour que le jeune homme reste à la maison. Louise est bouleversée quand elle apprend que son nouveau colocataire est menacé d'internement psychiatrique suite à des démélés judiciaires. Par ailleurs, ses compétences scientifiques et techniques la sauvent à plusieurs reprises de la ruine. Elle hésite longuement à l'accepter dans sa vie.

M. Milan (Richard Berry) est un tueur à gages qui doit exécuter son « contrat » depuis sa chambre d'hôtel donnant sur le palais de justice de Nice où est attendu Randoni (Michel Aumont), témoin clé d'un procès en corruption et homme à abattre. Son voisin, François Pignon (Patrick Timsit), photographe de presse délaissé par son épouse (Virginie Ledoyen) qui l’a quitté pour le docteur Wolf (Pascal Elbé), un neurologue réputé, essaye de se suicider en se pendant à la tuyauterie de la salle de bains et provoque une inondation. Milan persuade le garçon d'hôtel de ne pas appeler la police, promettant de veiller lui-même sur le dépressif pour éviter une récidive. Il se trouve alors englué irrémédiablement dans les problèmes de Pignon au détriment de sa mission.

A cleaner goes into the office of a banker. He tells the staff to leave then proceeds to change into a suit and place a picture on the desk of two brothers. Lardier, a courier, arrives and the man proceeds to explain to him that he has several financial options available. However a cell phones rings and Lardier hands it over to the man. Comme il le souhaitait dès l'époque de sa rencontre avec René Boirond, François Lesbuche est devenu commissaire à l'IGS, là où lui et René avaient été embauchés à la fin du deuxième opus. Malgré son grade et sa volonté d'être incorruptible, il n'hésite pas à rejouer les ripoux pour aider son vieil ami René, retraité reclus sur sa péniche. Impliqué bien malgré lui dans une affaire de blanchiment d'argent, René qui a accidentellement perdu le magot qui lui avait été confié est poursuivi par les commerçants chinois de Belleville. Avec l'aide d'un ami chirurgien, Albert, René change d'identité et devient Jean Morzini, un patient de la clinique d'Albert récemment décédé. François Pignon, an unassuming divorced man with a teenage son who ignores him, lives a quiet and unremarkable life.
