Pyrophobic mortician Gerald Tovar, Jr. inherits the family mortuary and accidentally exposes hundreds of uncremated bodies to toxic medical waste. As the corpses reanimate, Gerald’s inheritance-seeking younger brother, Harold, unexpectedly shows up and stumbles upon Gerald trying to keep the zombie outbreak under control. Sibling rivalry gives way to madness as Harold discovers Gerald’s dark secret–the freshly exhumed and zombified corpse of their father. The film also features a Sarah Palin spoof in the character of 'Sister Sara' (who works for a news outlet called 'Fixed News' which is apparently a spoof of Fox News) and makes references to the original 1968 Night of the Living Dead film with comments such as "They're Romero zombies" and "Pittsburgh is the zombie capital."

The NSA-funded QT (Quantum Tech) Corporation has slated a project to develop Hypertime, a technology which allows the user's molecules to speed up to the point where the world appears to be standing still. After realizing that such technology, contained within a wristwatch frame, could also be used against the USA, the NSA orders the project stopped. However, the research is farther along than the NSA expected and QT's leader Henry Gates plans on using the technology to usurp the leader of the NSA and dominate the world. He uses the prototype to stretch the weekend in order to give the brilliant lead scientist Earl Dopler time to fix the remaining glitch in the technology after his henchmen Richard and Jay prevent Earl's incognito departure at the airport. However, the disadvantage of Earl being in Hypertime for too long was him aging rapidly in real time, as his molecular age continued at the same rate despite time slowing down.

To salvage their reputation the trio concoct a false story to the housing administration about Paul's attitude and have him thrown out of the dorm. Paul takes residence in a veterinary hospital. Chris meets Paul and again concocts another story about how they were trying to help him as a ploy for Paul to let them use the hospital to throw parties since a resident at the dorm fell into sickness due to excessive alcohol, forbidding them to hold any parties thereon.

In 1962 an eccentric scientist who, like so many people at the time, thinking that a nuclear war between the U.S. and the Soviet Union was possible, has built an incredibly large fallout shelter in his back yard deep underground. During the Cuban Missile Crisis, when he thought things were going to escalate, Dr. Calvin Webber takes his pregnant wife into the fallout shelter. When a fighter jet flying over loses control, the pilot bails out and the plane crashes into their house causing intense heat from the fire which "knocks out all of his surface indicators". Calvin then, thinking the worst has happened, sets and activates the shelter's locks (designed not to open for 35 years). Everyone assumes the entire family was killed in the accident as no one knew of Calvin's secret fallout shelter with two hidden entrances (both entrances are mentioned in the movie but the movie focuses on the entrance in his back yard with the service elevator. The other entrance is presumed to have caved in.). Calvin's wife Helen gives birth to a boy whom they name Adam. Adam grows up being taught and exposed to all culture up to 1962 such as watching reruns of The Honeymooners and listening to Perry Como and Dean Martin. When the locks open 35 years later, they're so shocked to see how the world has changed they decide to stay inside. However their supplies have run out, so Adam goes out to get some more but gets lost and is helped by a girl called Eve.

Jack Frost (Michael Keaton) is the lead singer in a rock band simply titled "The Jack Frost Band", based in the fictional town of Medford, Colorado, who make their living performing blues covers and an assortment of their own songs in the hope of signing a record deal. He then returns to his 11-year-old son Charlie (Joseph Cross), who has just returned from an epic snowball fight against the bully Rory Buck (Taylor Handley). They spend some quality time by building a snowman in their front yard. Afterward, Jack tucks Charlie into bed and gives him his best harmonica, which Jack got the day Charlie was born. He then jokes with Charlie, telling him that it's magical, and he'll be able to hear the harmonica wherever he is. Jack promises his wife Gabby (Kelly Preston) that he will attend his son's hockey game. However, he misses the hockey's game in favor of recording the ironically named "Don't Lose Your Faith". Jack then promises to take his family on a Christmas trip to the mountains, but is called in on a gig that could either make or break his career. On his way to the gig, Jack realizes his mistake and borrows his best friend Mac's (Mark Addy) car to go home and be with his family. Unfortunately, a bad storm begins to block his view. Due to a faulty windshield wiper on Mac's car, Jack is unable to navigate through the storm, and as a result, he crashes his car, and is killed instantly (offscreen).

Ralphie's quest for most of the movie is to find a top tough enough to knock a bully's top out of a chalk circle in a game of "Kill". Meanwhile, Ralphie's dad has a series of skirmishes with his hillbilly neighbors, the Bumpuses, and all forty-three Bloodhounds named Big Red. The Old Man calls in Barkley, the family dog, to distract the Bumpuses' hounds when the Old Man comes home from work; when he gets out of the car, he accidentally steps in dog poop. The film begins in a large garage structure, where Cpt. Proctor (Lance Kinsey) and Commandant Mauser (Art Metrano) meet up with former Police Academy cadets, (now Sgts.) Chad Copeland (Scott Thomson) and Kyle Blankes (Brant van Hoffman). It seems one of the two Police Academy schools is getting the axe due to the state government's unwillingness to finance two academies, and Mauser wants Copeland and Blankes to make sure Lassard screws up. The men agree to the plan, knowing this may be their only chance at revenge at Lassard for (somewhat deservingly) graduating them at the bottom of their class.
