Sunil Bohra is an Indian producer, distributor, and exhibitor. He is the son of Surendra Bohra and Shanti Bohra; his sister is Sunita Bohra Vyas. He is the grandson of actor, producer and filmmaker Ram Bohra who was president of Indian Motion Pictures Producers Association (IMPPA) for 15 years. His great uncle is Ramkumar Bohra, co-founder of Bohra Bros.

Biography

Bohra Bros. was founded in 1947 as a film making company. In the last six decades, Bohra Bros has successfully grown into a one stop media and entertainment company. Currently, the company is organized in five divisions – Film Production; Film Distribution & Exhibition; TV Production; Celebrity & Event Management and 5PMedia Solutions.
Bohra Bros launched their first movie Lachak in 1951. Since then, they have produced well over one hundred movies in Hindi and regional languages, among which are – Sajan Ka Ghar, Takkar, Mard, Al Hilal, Hercules, Thief of Baghdad and Golden Eyes. The company is foraying into joint production with a major production house in Canada.

Beginning in the 1950s, Bohra Bros ventured into film distribution and over the years have become major distributors in Rajasthan and Gujarat. The distribution division went international with acquisition of world rights for Malegaon Ka Superman – a film that has been critically acclaimed globally for its unique production techniques.

Rajaram (Rahul Bagga), a small town bank clerk who dreams of travelling to Delhi and becoming a reputed writer. His litterateur aspirations are supported by none except his wife Renu (Tara-Alisha Berry). He leaves his job to become a full-time writer, but cannot find a publisher for his book. One publisher agrees only if he would add sensational elements or masala to his dull tale. He is unable to decode masala until he meets Chacha, an eccentric, old village idiot who shows him the spicier side of life. He adopts the pseudonym of Mastram and churns out his pornographic novel series, which becomes a best selling cake. He gets successful however all credits are attributed to Mastram not Rajaram.

The film opens with murder of Shahid Azmi (Rajkummar Rao) and goes into flashback to the violence during the Bombay Riots. There Shahid witnesses cold-blooded murders and in anger runs away to Pakistan-administered Kashmir, where he spends a brief period at a militant training camp. He soon returns. In Mumbai, he is arrested under the TADA, for an alleged conspiracy to assassinate some politicians. He is brutally tortured by police and forced to admit the crime, after which he spends seven years at Tihar Jail in New Delhi. During his stay at Tihar Jail, he's tried to be brainwashed by Omar Sheikh (Prabal Panjabi). But another fellow jail mate War Saab (K K Menon) inspires him to start his college education. Once he is acquitted of the charges, he goes ahead to study law in Mumbai.

A gang of heavily armed men scour and finally narrow down on a house in Wasseypur. They surround the house and unleash a wave of bullets and grenades on it with the intention of killing the family inside it. After heavy firing on the house, they retreat from the crime scene in a vehicle, convinced they have killed everyone within. The leader of the gang then calls one JP Singh (Satya Anand) on his cell phone and reports that the family have been successfully executed but he is double crossed by JP Singh as a fire fight erupts between them and a police check post blocking their escape route. The scene cuts abruptly for a prologue by the narrator, Nasir.
